Shuttle XPC X27D Barebones Mini PC Intel Atom 330 Dual Core 945GC DDR2-533 SATA Video Sound GBLAN
Cons:-Despite only having one small fan, it's louder than it should be-The front panel door on the case is flimsy, as are some of the connectors on the rear (especially the VGA port)-Very limited expandability
Pros:-Great price-Small size-Low power usage-More than enough horsepower for anything short of hardcore gaming Comment:
I've been running my X27d for about a month now. It is acting as my home file/print/backup/subversion/TeamCity/downloading server, and it's doing the job flawlessly. It's definitely not a gaming machine, but it's perfect for server-type tasks. My main complaint is that for it's size and power, it's a little on the loud side. I will probably look in to replacing the fan at some point. |
Had the system for about 1 year now. It is my main server here. I loaded the latest OpenSolaris on it, plus a few goodies: Tomcat, Bind, Sendmail, CIFS, Postgresql ...# psrinfo0 on-line since 12/02/2009 11:24:171 on-line since 12/02/2009 11:24:192 on-line since 12/02/2009 11:24:193 on-line since 12/02/2009 11:24:19I bought a second one with two SSD drives, perfect.Last note, NCIX service is outstanding!
