Pricey, but could be helpful
Comment:
I bought this as an exhaust fan, and in that respect its awesome, highest flow of any of my other fans. While louder than my other 2 120mms (but with the added benefit of way more CFM) it's not terribly loud and takes a careful ear, you can't even discern this fan over my stock CPU fan and GPU). |

Do Not Bother
Comment:
This is probably the worst quiet fan that I have ever used. Quiet means under 20db. This fan is usually above 18dba. With 8 fans on full in my case, this is the only one that I can hear. Air flow is unacceptable. It might be able to exhaust from high pressure to low pressure, but it cannot push against a fan screen, a filter or a radiator. |

SilenX IXP-76-18 Case Fan
Cons:actual cfm no where near advertised volume
Pros:quiet; comes with rubber or metal fasteners Comment:
I thought this would make an excellent addition to my Big Typhoon but the sad truth is it barely (1 to 3 degrees) performs better than the fan that came with that heat sink. Hopefully the bearing type will prove to be an advantage in durability. Otherwise save your money and buy two other fans. |

SilenX IXP-76-18 Case Fan
Cons:Not as quiet as they claim, PRICE!
Pros:Moves alot of air, nice rubber mounts to isolate noise. Comment:
These are good fans but they are not quiet. The rating is not realistic and they can be heard much louder over my other fans that are only 2 dB lower in rating. They do a good job of moving air so if you need a fan that moves lots of air then these are the fans for you. Price could be better however. |
Big fan, moves a ton of air. If a quiet fan is less than 20db and this one is, then it would be a quiet fan, no? I use it on the back side of a radiator and it dropped my temp 2 degrees over a stock 120mm fan. Any fan pushing or pulling against a filter or radiator will have reduced flow, get a clue Mr. Don't Bother. $20 is a little steep for a fan but it does what it says it can.
