Silicon Power S70 2.5in 240GB SSD SATA 3 Read Up to 550MB/S Write Up to 520MB/S
Cons:None so far.
Pros:MUCH faster than my 7200RPM drive.Boot's Win 8.1 much quicker.Apps and games on the drive load much faster.Absolutely silent. Comment:
Picking up one of the quicker SSD's (in this price range) for only $99 is one of the cheapest and easiest ways to increase the responsiveness of your system. Easy to install and migrate your OS (or reinstall) and you're good to go. Would buy again for sure. |

Silicon Power S70 2.5in 240GB SSD SATA 3 Read Up to 550MB/S Write Up to 520MB/S
Cons:Sandforce chipset is showing it's age.
Pros:Very affordable for a 240GB SSD. Chipset/firmware is mature and trustworthy. Toggle-mode MLC NAND (only SLC and Samsung's 3D NAND are better) for the price of ASYNC MLC NAND. Comment:
Most sandforce-SSD-makers have moved down to ASYNC MLC NAND for their value drives. The average user wouldn't be able to test the difference most of the time (ANY contemporary SSD is worlds better than a HDD), but if you were going to spend a few bucks extra for slightly better performance anyway, save a few bucks and pickup this drive.Performance to match the Intel 530 drives while keeping some money in your pocket? That's a win in my book. |
Picked it up on special, and have to say pretty nice performance.Has been working flawlessly since install.
