StarTech HSB100SATBK 5.25" Tray-Less SATA Hot-Swap Bay
Cons:None, it's a great product!

Pros:Works great, easy as hell 4-bolts installation. You can plug it in your motherboard to have the HDD light to flash in front of it.

Wow!This thing is perfect for my needs, I had no idea what I was getting into with this!My Antec 900 case features two 3-drives cages that have a fan in front of them but I removed them to install a corsair H100 in push-pull configuration using 4 cougar vortex PWM.I ended up with my HDD sitting on top of my PSU, while asking around people suggested that I should use this since it's a great product and I LOVE it!

StarTech HSB100SATBK 5.25" Tray-Less SATA Hot-Swap Bay
Cons:Looks weird on the inside

Pros:Works wellSnug fitDoesn't work with notebook sized drives
Comment:
This turns a 5.25" bay into a hotswap dock for 3.5" SATA hard drives. It seems like a fairly well-built unit; it feels sturdy enough and the fit is good - No wiggling required to get a drive connected. This review was modfied by poster @ 01-28-12 08:52 PM

We have multiple students who share computers in our lab. This enables them to each have their own drive so that no one is making changes to any other student's OS.

StarTech HSB100SATBK 5.25" Tray-Less SATA Hot-Swap Bay
Cons: -The "Sata 300mb/s" permanent decal on front is Ugly (only real complaint)-No need for locks-Yes we all have heard the HDD light is useless. So what?

Pros: -Cheap-Hold HDD very snug-No tools OR brackets needed to install HDD-Does what it is advertised to do
Comment:
I don't understand the reason for the lousy ratings. These work wicked, they fit any case, and have individual connections per unit for no confusion. So a few asthetics don't work or aren't that pleasing. I bought 2, They work like a charm and have made expanding my HDD space to 4 TB a breeze. I may just take a black sharpie to the small square "Sata 300mb/s" decal, or see if it rubs off. I also removed the startech.com sticker. Locks don't make sense. If someone wants the HDD, a lock on a plastic door won't stop them. They may as well pick up the whole PC and walk out with it. 5 stars in my books.

Cons: Drive light fairly useless.

Pros: Work as advertised.
Comment:
Have two of these to be able to easily swap some drives between pcs. They work as advertised. Don't really impress on first look, but once installed they hold the drive firmly and are a convenient piece if you have the need.

StarTech HSB100SATBK 5.25" Tray-Less SATA Hot-Swap Bay
Cons:- Feel rather cheep- HDD lights are useless

Pros:- Inexpensive- Convenient
Comment:
I bought four of these for an unRAID file server I am building. They feel a little flimsy but once you mount them they seem to get the job done. The lock and key system feels pretty cheep too, but it does protect from accidental opening so it works. Every drive bay has a lead and plug for an HDD light. I have no idea what to plug this into as most motherboards only have a spot for one HDD_LED header. That sounds like a lot of negatives, but overall I am happy with the purchase. They were a very inexpensive way to add convenient drive changes to my server.

StarTech HSB100SATBK 5.25" Tray-Less SATA Hot-Swap Bay
Cons:-Weird mounting brackets (see review)-Can sometimes make a buzzing noise with more than one-Only 4 mounting screws with 8 mounting holes

Pros:-Lock-Snug swapping-Reliable connection.
Comment:
Bought 4 of these, all of them worked fine. I wish there was some way of getting the LEDs hooked up with the hard drive its self, because I can't connect all four of the LED connector things to my motherboard. My main concern with the product is the mounting method. There is some weird springy mechanism that really doesn't work well with the slide in drive bay mounting stick things, because when there is enough pressure down on the drive bay the bay can collapse out of the mounting bay. It is not a problem for me however, because all my drive bays are full, thus the hot swap bays can't collapse. Sometimes the bays rattle on each other, which is another reason I might consider purchasing a different hot swap bay next time.
