Supermicro MB MBD-X7SPA-HF-D525-O Atom D525 DDR3 SATA PCIE MiniITX Retail
Cons:-cpu and southbridge gets very hot-pricey
Pros:-dual Intel NICs-IPMI (KVM through ethernet)-draws 16Watts |
Bought this board for my pfSense build. Packed with features such has dual Intel gigabit NICs, RAID, 6 SATA ports, more USB ports than I'll ever need (back panel + onboard headers). The IPMI feature is pretty neat. Allows you to connect to it through a web browser from another machine like a KVM switch but through ethernet. You can mount cdroms or disks from another machine and install programs to the Atom system all through IPMI which lets you see the actuall screen too so you don't need a monitor. One thing I don't like is that the CPU and southbridge (at least I think it's the southbridge) gets very hot to the touch, roughly 50C.
