Swiftech Apogee GTZ Ci7 Extreme Duty CPU Water-block for Intel Core i7 processors
Cons:Moving the retention screws from the KGA775 plate was a little bit of a pain
Pros:Perfect fit for the I7 Mobo and GTZ Water block Comment:
The back plate is a perfect fit for my Asus P6T Mobo, and the switch over from the stock CPU plate from the GTZ was an easy 2 min job.Unit installed well, and CPU temps are nice and low |

Swiftech Apogee GTZ Ci7 Extreme Duty CPU Water-block for Intel Core i7 processors
Cons:Bit expensive for what it is, and tells you to use alan key From the GTZ block, but none were included in the GTZ package.....
Pros:Work great ! Comment:
Does the job, whit this I dont see any needs to get i7 only block. The GTZ works and works better than reported temperature from review around the web of dedicated 1366 block that are available. looking at the price of hold down bracket for air cooling around the web, this block seems overpriced. Nothing against NCIx since the price is comparable to the other resellers, but I think Swiftech is overpricing this. But since it is only 10 $, who care !!!!! |
Well...it worked well while it worked...for the entire day it did. Plate was installed and block was mounted per Swiftech's instructions, but upon removal to re-apply TIM, I found that one of the block's retaining screws would no longer tighten into the back plate. I presume the threads are stripped on the side of the back plate, and hopefully not on the thumbscrew instead. A general rule of thumb for manufacturers is to use stainless steel threads, especially in tension applications such as these. However, the choice to use aluminum threads predisposes the block to stripping out.
