Syba SY-PEX40032 SATA3 PCI-E 2.0X1 Controller Card 2x SATA With RAID 0/1 Software
Cons:"Sata 3" does not hold up under benchmarks. 5% improvement over my onboard SATA2 with my SSD (210 MB/s read vs 200 MB/s, with a Vertex 4 advertised speed 500 MB/s).
Pros:It works. If you just need some SATA ports, why not... |

Syba SY-PEX40032 SATA3 PCI-E 2.0X1 Controller Card 2x SATA With RAID 0/1 Software
Cons:limited bandwidth for RAID setting
Pros:easy to install. Works very well Comment:
This add-on card is very easy to install to your board. it works just fine. However, due to PCI-E x1 is limited to 500Mps bandwidth, It will not take full advantage of the SATA3 capability. If you have an old HDD then it won't be a problem...but if you use it with a fast SSD then it will not use the full potential of the SSD. |

Syba SY-PEX40032 SATA3 PCI-E 2.0X1 Controller Card 2x SATA With RAID 0/1 Software
Cons:Bottlenecked at 5Gbps by the PCI-E 2.0x1
Pros:SATA32 portsHot-swap Comment:
Same as any PCI-E 2.0x1 SATA card except its SATA3...Shame that it bottlenecks at 5Gbps. I just wonder why they never use PCI-E 2.0x4.So make sure its only for one SATA3 drive or else you wasting your money. |
The only thing "SATA3" about this board is the Marvell 9128 Chipset they put on it. It realizes speeds in Sisoft Sandra no better than 5% over my SATA2 onboard. It's okay if you need an extra two SATA ports, but calling it SATA3 is not an accurate description of its performance.
