This is an inexpensive drive, but that doesn't mean it's more likely to fail, or be noisy, or slower than comparable 1TB drives. It's meant to be a regular use drive and I think for the price it should serve well. |

These are sometimes the cheapest 1tb option on here. I've used a few in the past, and they seem to be quite good. Fairly fast, reliable, haven't had one die on me yet. |

I use about 50-100 hard drives a year and I have settled on Toshiba drives. To date (500 drives) I have not had a single one fail after as much as 5 years ownership. I have to directly warranty any system I sell and I have never had to replace a hard drive yet. By comparison I have had to replace as much as 25% of all the seagates I have used. WD are also good drives but more expensive. I think most people that buy from NCIX are use to seagates and WD and have just not used Toshiba/Hitachi drives so they avoid them. I do not believe they are any faster, or slower than comparable WD/Seagate drives so the benefit to me is the reliability of them. I know at some point I will get a bad one. No company of any type is 100% in it's manufacturing. I am disappointed in reviews that give a product 1 star if they are the one that happens to fail. In that case if the replacement was fast and free I usually give it a 3 start, average rating. How can you really know how the HD performed if you never tried it. State the failure and state that you are unsure of how it performed. I would highly recommend these drives in any size. |

the drive was defective right from the beginning, i was able to install windows 7 on it, but had a hard time installing the motherboard drivers, the pc was really slow and couldn't handle more than one task at the time, after trying different ram and a different psu, i found out the problem was coming from the hard drive, i bought a different drive (1tb wd blue), and that solved my problem, now the pc is running #1fortunately, being a vip member, i was able to send the defective drive free of charge, and i got a full refund from ncix, thank you for the good service, that was the only positive aspect of the experience |
