TP-Link Single USB2.0 Port MFP and Storage Server
Cons:Setting up a IP printer is for advance users,Network USB allows only one user to connect to device at a time,Network USB is software dependent.
Pros:Web Manager,IP Printer (Network Printer),Network USB up to 4 USB devices. |
This is a very interesting device and the future of print servers, in fact it's not a real print server. It's much more than that. This device allows almost any USB device to be connected over the network natively with TP-LINK's device manager software. You can use this with web cams, key boards, joysticks, and almost anything that is USB. I can see no limit to what you can do with this device if your a Windows user.If you're like me and got this to use on a older printer that doesn't print with Windows 7, this device can set up a true IP printer. It's not so simple to setup, but works perfectly with windows/apple/linux.If you want to network USB devices, you are forced to use TP-LINK's software which only works with Windows, but is pretty awesome because you can use almost anything that is USB. However only one user can be connected to each USB device at one time, which makes sense when you think about it.This device is small and is not the fastest 100MBit network device, I only got a 5MByte per second write speed on a external hard drive, otherwise fine for many USB devices.I highly recommend this device cause it can do so much.
