TP-Link TL-WPA4220KIT AV500 500MBPS WiFi Powerline Extender Starter Kit
Cons:None that I can find
Pros:Good speed over electrical wire, strong signal from wireless router, can place wireless router in convenient locations Comment:
I was skeptical, but the hassle of running cat5 and placing wireless routers prompted me to try this. The technology is a complete no-brainer. The speed over power lines is "good enough" for any wireless network. The use of wall sockets allows you to place the wireless access point in more convenient locations (like a hallway) allowing better coverage. In theory you can add more wireless access points, but I didn't need to. This product and my existing wireless router was sufficient to cover a two story house.I didn't do the "one button" Wifi protected setup. I downloaded the utility and followed the directions to extend my existing network. The utility and instructions are good. There seems to be plenty of bandwidth (for streaming video) and no interference.I highly recommend it unless you really need gigabit speeds. |

TP-Link TL-WPA4220KIT AV500 500MBPS WiFi Powerline Extender Starter Kit
Cons:None
Pros:Economical,Easy setup Comment:
Very easy, one button setup. This kit did a great job of providing strong signal wireless to an area of a house that couldn't get a signal from the router wireless. Frankly I was surprised how well it worked. I've installed two of these kits in two different homes. Excellent! |
Great little unit. Where my PC is in my bedroom, it has a very poor internet connection over wifi. Running a cable is not possible in my situation. I now have the wifi extender plugged into a wall socket in my bedroom and both my PC and my 360 now have solid and consistent full bar wifi connections. I am using the SSID clone feature and my devices connected automatically without issue. The package comes with the 2 powerline boxes, as well as a couple RJ45 network cables.I'm quite pleased with the results. I had been living with a spotty connection due to the inability to get a cable to the PC, so this was a really nice thing to find.
