Realtek chipset installs below WinXp and is discovered/installed immediately with no complications. Hey, it's a ten럼 network card for ŭ.79! I purchased three and they all perform. It's costing me much more to write this good review than I've spent on these cards! None=Not Free ;-)

Got it yesterday, dropped it in, worked with no dilemma. As stated earlier, didn't even want the driver disc that came with it. The card is only as big as it certainly wants to be, and it supports Wake-on-LAN. All for eight dollars!!! That is too straightforward!!! Not a a single on the NIC, but I'm going to put this here since it irritates me. @ Newegg, if an item expenses ū.99, the shipping must not be eight dollars. I was going to by either a D-Link or Netgear NIC, as those are usually my brands of decision. They only practical experience I have with TrendNet is a NIC Pc Card for my old ThinkPad that nonetheless works soon after seven or so years. What they do not tell you in the specs is that Windows Server 2008 DOES assistance this card (at least x64 does). I was worried ahead of making this obtain since I went by 4 models of NICs and Win 2K8 didn't recognize any of them and the companies didn't have drivers for Win 2008. I know how online merchants siphon their clients with "restocking fees" on returns. Worry no additional! Hope this assist the poor sap who is trying to remedy that concern. Of course, the free of charge shipping was the greatest portion, and it only took a day to get right here.

- Low-cost - Could not get IP configuration from a router I utilised it in Windows 7 x64. Might be drivers are negative, challenging to say. I tried drivers for Win XP 64 bit and Vista 64 bit with no results.

I've under no circumstances liked PCI slot devices. But for the moment I uncover a item that doesn't need to be babysitted for drivers and stays up when I require it. I would absolutely suggest this item to individuals that have older PCs with no LAN, or looking to dual LAN I know you're not suppose to crank the screws overly tight but I would feel much better that the bracket didn't bend so a lot when getting secured.

Comments: Bought two of these a year ago. Utilizing a single in a Debian box, the other in an IPCop firewall, in each circumstances the cards merely worked without having adding anything to the kernel. Haven't truly tested transfer rate or CPU usage, but they seem fine. Haven't had any reliability problems. They're superior, low-cost cards.

None, it by no means in fact worked. This card somehow BSOD'd the Pc I installed it on several instances only after appearing in the hardware plug & play list more than 33 instances. Each and every reboot would add usually 15 far more entries. It was tricky to install into the PCI slots it was meant for, and I tested other NIC's on every single slot in this old m2ne- ASUS motherboard and they all seemed to perform fine.On one occasion employing the included driver CD, It finally stopped registering as a RealTec 81-a thing and popped up TRENDnet TE100-PCIWN, but then promptly blue screened the Pc. Uninstalled and popped an old wireless NIC and have had no issues due to the fact.OS was Win XP pro, M2ne ASUS mobo, AMD x2 񪃠, nvidia 8400gs. (just a bunch of salvage turned desktop that runs fine otherwise.)

Installed effortlessly. Windows XP SP3 detected the card, and had drivers for it suitable away. Didn't want disc. Value was amazing. Shipping from newegg.com was great as usual. Wish it had Gigabit? Still deserves 5 eggs, as it just performs as advertised. Windows XP SP3 Residence EditionIntel Celeron 1. GHzDell Smartstep 100D laptop or computer256MB RAM

none I place this in a machine which runs a dual boot with Windows XP and Ubuntu 10.04. It doesn't matter which OS I begin, both of them only locate the card about 25% of the time and neither one particular are in a position to make use of it when it is identified. In Windows, I get the "Limited or no connectivity" difficulty just immediately after it attempts to obtain a network address. It has the same dilemma in Ubuntu. This is the second Realtek card I've had issues with and I'm accomplished with them!!!

Recognized by every thing I've applied them withremarkably tinyquite affordable not made of diamonds This thing is no taller than a typical RAM module, so you can fit a couple of of these into a modified 1U situation if you take away that ugly metal issue, so you can use that 1U compy as a router, too.
