TRENDnet TEG-240WS 10/100/1000Mbps Gigabit Web Smart Switch
Cons:
None.
Pros: rack mounts to replace existing gear. Comment:
Purchased 2 of these initially to speed up the deployment of 50 Windows 7 PC's on an existing 100mb switched LAN. The existing PC's already had gb nics so it was a no brainer to look at beefing up the switches. After deploying an initial 30 machines literally in minutes we were able to compare the same deployment to the remaining 20 machines through an older DLink 100mb switch. We immediately ordered another after watching the 100mb switches take over 2 hrs to deploy. |
Purchased that switch for a home setup. First thing I have notice is how noisy is the switch. I don't care much since it's located in my computer room. Other problem I ran into is I couldn't configure the IP and User/pass. The application doesn't seem to apply changes on Windows 7 x64. That's where I'm missing the console port.Other then that, the perfs are awsome. Watching HD movies over the network without any lags. File transfers over 100MB/s.
