TRENDnet TPL-406E2K 500MBPS Powerline AV Ethernet Adapter Kit
Cons:- Its inability to connect to powerbars can be a drag- Could have an extra ethernet port
Pros:- Price (it was on sale)- Absolutely easy to use- It works Comment:
I just plugged and instantly leaped from a 19mbps wireless connection into the wonders of 39mpbs internet.I live on a rental, and based on the sorry state of the outlets, the wiring has been there since the pilgrims, so powerline was a total shot in the dark. But I get all green lights from the adapter and the amazing aforementioned speed.BEWARE, though: that was accomplished using no powerbars, UPSs or even outlet multipliers of any sort. It's all outlet to outlet, any added device may decrease the signal. |

TRENDnet TPL-406E2K 500MBPS Powerline AV Ethernet Adapter Kit
Cons:speed is not what is advertised
Pros:easy setup, connect and go Comment:
Got these to connect a couple of windows 7 computers. I actually used these in conjunction with the older TPL-401E2K kit. Easy to set up with the older kits. Basically you have to use this new kit as the base and the older kit is re-configured to work with the new ones. The speed of the these is no way near the advertised speeds as others have mentioned. It is faster than the wireless G connection that i had but i maxed out around 5MBs. I was on the same house phase wiring but three floors apart. |

TRENDnet TPL-406E2K 500MBPS Powerline AV Ethernet Adapter Kit
Cons:The 500mbps is a huge FALSE advertisement. The troughput of the unis is only 10/100mbps, even if the unit can achieve 500 they will never deliver what they advertise on the box, 100 is the max throughputLike most TrendNet product, to update the firmware you MUST be on windows. There is no support for firmware upgrade under OSX or Linux.
Pros:Really, really, really easy to setup. I mean very easy! Comment:
Seriously I tough it would require some kind of setup bot no. the biggest part is to plug them in the power unit. I definitely recommend this product.False advertisement this is not 500mbps but 100mbps. |

TRENDnet TPL-406E2K 500MBPS Powerline AV Ethernet Adapter Kit
Cons:-None
Pros:-Easy to install-Good value Comment:
This replaced an old pair of MSI 200Mbps ones and it was an immediate improvement. Sharing files over the network as definitely faster. Too bad it's not the gigabit model but 10/100 will do for now. |

TRENDnet TPL-406E2K 500MBPS Powerline AV Ethernet Adapter Kit
Cons:10/100 Mbps Ethernet port
Pros:good speed, reliable, easy to use Comment:
I bought this set at dell for 29.99 when it was on sale. Goodbye to my wireless adaptors. I have been fighting with unstable wireless signals for a long time, but really did not want to wire long ethernet cables in my apartment. This kit works very good for me. No longer loss of network connections. The 500mbps in the title is really a boast though, because it uses 10/100 ethernet ports instead of gigabit ethernet ports. So you can only get 100mbps maximum, which is 12.5MB/s, good enough for me though. |

TRENDnet TPL-406E2K 500MBPS Powerline AV Ethernet Adapter Kit
Cons:Not as fast as it should've been
Pros:No need to run Cat5e all over the house Comment:
I have an existing set of the 401s running. In order to add these 406s I first had to break the 401 link, and in essence use the 406 as the "master". Slightly cumbersome to setup, but otherwise works just fine. At $39.99 on sale, it's pretty good deal. |

TRENDnet TPL-406E2K 500MBPS Powerline AV Ethernet Adapter Kit
Cons:only 100Mbps i/f, so 200Mbps max at FDX (and the whole industry is misleading with the rated speeds, anyway)
Pros:smaller (than prev gen & some competing units) Comment:
I previously had TrendNet's "200Mbps" variety which worked well but (like the other reviewer), I was hoping for more speed. Oddly, with the factory firmware as shipped, my speed was actually LESS!! After I update d the firmware, the speed was marginally faster than the previous generation. If I get around to doing any actual benchmarks, I'll post an update here. |

TRENDnet TPL-406E2K 500MBPS Powerline AV Ethernet Adapter Kit
Cons:noisyperformance
Pros:inexpensivecompact size Comment:
first of all this device use 1 x 10/100 Mbps Auto-MDIX Ethernet port so forget about the 500mbps advertised speed.the real speed i get is 1.65 mb/s which is about 13mbps, but this is probably a problem with my house electrical wiring, because checking on the net people in general get much faster speed than me,both adapter are connected in the wall socket .i was getting 1.3 mb with my wireless connection so i wanted to improve speed with the purchase of this unit ($40), well i guess i kind of fail on that onealso the unit in my bedroom make a buzzing noise, you cannot hear it during the day, but it is definitely noticeable at night when everything is quiet |
Bought these to replace dual band WiFi adapters. These work better without issues related to Wifi signals and speeds. I bought more than one set and had no set up to keep adding more units...no programming required. Just keep plugging them in and they find each other, regardless of number used. I'm up to 6 units.
