Targus AWE19US Chill Mat XC for Laptops

I bought one of these locally for 30 bucks and works well for my laptop as an extra computer on my desk for other tasks. I find I have to lube the fans now and then as I assume they are not ball bearing but sleeve type.I squirted armor all in the cracks near the blade to get it to the bearing sleeve area and it seemed quiet down.Its not bad for a cheap plastic unit. A bit pricy though and it needs better fans. I will go with an aluminum unit with better fans next time.

I got the Targus Chill Mat about 2 months ago. I've had problems with other laptop cooling pads including the Belkin and have been very frustrated by the design of many of them. I'm not thrilled with the design of this one since my laptop literally IS a laptop, not something I put on a desk or shelf or whatever. I had to put something under the mat so the 'feet' didn't dig into my legs, but thus far it seems to keep my 5+ year old laptop running pretty well. Also it runs quieter than the last product I had. Also a nice feature is the two different fan settings with a switch in the back. It's also pretty sturdy compared to the first Targus product I got. No problems as of yet, hopefully it stays that way.
