Thermalright VRM-R1 Heatpipe VGA Cooler for ATI HD 4890/4870 VGA Cards
Cons:Doesn't seem to be a way to use 2 of these if you're running two GPUs in crossfire.
Pros:Instantly noticeable drop in temperature. Fits around Arctic Cooling Accelero Rev2. Allows dedicated fan to be attached. |
I bought an Arctic Cooling Accelero Rev2 for my Radeon HD4890 and I was very happy with the drop in GPU temperature, but the flimsy little stick-on heat sinks for the voltage regulators only held on very slightly. Despite my best efforts to secure them as best as possible, the voltage regulators would still heat up to 150ºC under gaming conditions which would cause the computer to crash.Idle temperature after adding this cooler went from 90ºC to 60ºC. Even more impressive, during gaming it never gets above 100ºC. That's not bad, considering I haven't mounted a fan to it. I'm sure I could get it even cooler with a fan.
