I bought this HD cage for use in a Cooler Master Centurion 590 case. It fit perfectly and the blue led fan is quiet and looks excellent by way of the front filter of this case. It does what the Cooler Master cage does but for about half the cost. It's made of aluminum which may possibly help cool a challenging drive much better then steel. None at this time I liked it so significantly, I purchased another for a buddy who has a CM 690 case.

Does its job. Effortless to set up. Plugs right in and goes no difficulty. Could use a greater powered fan being a significant fanned front intake. No other cages with fan options so you have to acquire the cage and then get an additional fan if you want to move much more air. Its just a fan cage.

Affordable compared to the LianLi alt.; ok fan; hold my hdd in place Hdd installation is a bit combersome;nothing a decent screwdriver can't overcome. Fan is a bit noisy, but it's all in the cost. This is a good option to individual 5.25Ǚ.5 mounts. I use these in a server and the added fan is wonderful. While I typically swap out the fan with a quieter 1, you can simply swap the power leads in the molex connector to slow it down. This unit fits in each and every case setup I've employed it in w/o a dilemma; old, new and tool-much less.Thermaltake, please don't quit generating these.

-Easy-Does the job -Installing the HDD's can be a bit of a pain, nonetheless with the appropriate screwdriver it can be performed.-I personally don't like the LED fan, I swapped it out for a Xigmatech 70cfm fan and it does the job really well.-I custom painted it black, would have been nice if if it came pre-powder-coated or some thing of the sort. I'd advise it.

Bought this to house two Raptor X 150s, as the Alien-X intake fans are blocked by the HD cage.Setup was a tad much more tricky than just screwing on sliding drive rails (difficult to screw the drive screws in, and I have quite smaller hands). Had to really push difficult for the cage to seat properly (the soft aluminum is an asset here to make it fit), but once in, it looks like it came with the case, with only the fan guard showing outside (fan is flush).Fan that came with it is LED blue (I have orange LED fans), but it didn't clash as the light is outside the case. Comes with a finger guard that is an asset due to the fan becoming on the outside and can be very easily touched with out a single. CFM is quiet and sufficient, but in hot environments you'll be wanting a higher CFM sort. Have had the fan running virtually a year now 24ǝ, so it's also heavy duty. This drive cage is a hidden gem (works in any case with five.25" bays and slider sort rails) -- cost smart it's the ideal you'll come across for the job. Most significant issue is attaching the difficult drives to the cage itself. Having small hands didn't assist substantially. Will miss the ease of just pulling out a drive with the sliding sort rails. Knocking 1 egg off for both inconveniences. Although created for three drives, for sufficient cooling of high RPM drives you may well want to only fill two slots. This leaves plenty of air to go all around the drives, plus aid to cool the memory (where it commonly is positioned to blow more than -- and in tight circumstances, you'd appreciate this added cooling very substantially!).

Owned much less than a day because it wasn't for me, but in my opinion this is sweet for towers that either A: Have too a lot of HDDs than the case can handle in the three.five" bays, or B: Want to move the HDDs to make area for bigger video cards like my friend's 8800GT. These are extremely light, most of the weight really comes from the fan so the metal will absorb a lot of heat and the fan will cool it off, win win circumstance here? Thing is created of alu-minimal if you ask me, it feels way too light, I was worried I was going to break it in half it was that light. Other than that, ahh not really, no.. nuh uh, not that I can feel of, um, just no.... when the HDDs are in this feels a small beefier and ought to fit in any 5.25" bays, but I would assume it'd be pretty useless for the fan to be put in a case with a front door. Oh and I'm assuming noise isn't an matter, if you want this chances are you're making a monster, not a laptop or computer :)

Space for x3 3.5" challenging drives to fit neatly, 120mm fan on the front has pretty nice output so it keeps the drives mounted in the iCage nice and cool and contributes to superior case ventilation as well, identical to the iCage that comes with some of Thermaltake's computer system circumstances so it fits perfectly, fan has both a male and female four-pin power connector so you can just piggyback the power from of one of the drives in the iCage if you want, fan has an added cord for speed monitoring/control if you wish to use it but it's not mandatory by any means. None at all. This unit is identical to the one that came with my Thermaltake Armor case, so needless to say it slid proper into place subsequent to my existing iCage. I have 7 challenging drives in my computer and I only had 4 locations to effectively mount them till I got this item. This iCage gave me the 3 additional 3.5" mounting spots that I've essential all along. Plus, now I count on all the drives that I mounted in my new iCage to be nicely-cooled.If I somehow finish up with additional challenging drives (not likely, but that's beside the point) I am definitely going to get a different one of these to mount them in.

If you own a Themal Case I suggest you grab yet another 1 of these for yours. At very first when I saw this on Newegg I did not believe it could make a distinction. Guess I was wrong. My case core temp dropped 5C just by adding the Module. I run 5 HDD's 3 in raid other people as just storage. Even although my Themal Case Armor+ is superb for cooling anyways at the time I just didnt think it could enhance. This Module is a have to if you overclock and have tons of HDD's. It will preserve your HDD's really cool so your other cooling will keep anything else cool. Drop the temp on one item generally helps the whole. So far none This Module is made out of Aluminum. Some feel its cheaply made, but its not. Its what you can expect for a case/hdd cooler. Fan does blow huge amount of air. If your case has a front door I suggest you purchase one thing else. This item works nicely with circumstances like the Armor series. Essentially any case with no front door and alot of beathing space for the fan. Its quieter than my 90mm fans and push more air. Good blue LEDs if your into getting flashy. Excellent is exceptional as always from Thermaltake.

I installed this factor in my Armor case. It looks fairly cool getting two glowing fans in the front, and with two fans the improve in airflow is instantly noticeable. Now I have the prospective for 9 hard drives. The fan's leds are brighter and a slightly unique color of blue than the fan that came with my case. I don't actually thoughts, but an individual could.

It is affordable and looks cool enough. If it fits your case without modification, could be a very good value. Fan is loud and for some bizarre design cause they made the slits on the sides that have difficulty sliding into situations with beefier rails. No filter on the intake. In the end, I can't give this item a superior review since the first factor I had to do was surgery on the slits to expand them so it would in fact slide into my case. Replace the really loud fan and then try to find a foam piece to cover the front so I could catch the dust coming into the method. In the finish I just yanked it, spent about ten bucks much more and got one that worked out of the box.

Aluminum, fits raidmax smilodon (so I can use long video cards) fit the three drives I had, has a fan with ok airflow (fan could be stronger but it keeps em around 35c)Adds a different fan with a fairly superior searching fan grill. Cut my finger, edges are sharp and aren't sanded smooth.May possibly switch out fan for a antec tricool or a coolermaster red 120mm (those 90 some thing cfm ones) Coulda had sanded edges, could have came with a plastic insert for about the fan (to make it seemless) but that may possibly be asking too much. Beats the heck outta employing adapters plys this adds yet another fan, all temps on my method went down two-3 celcius with this factor.

I have the Thermaltake Armor case and required an additional cage for some HD's just bought. Mounts good up front and smoothly. The Fan that comes with the iCage is one thing much much less then desirable. a fan that makes 17 dB and only 32 CFM, there are quite a few fans that can be bough that move twice as significantly air although staying at the very same volume. Cage it self is some what flimsy but it does the job, holds HDD's. If you want this to also be an intake for your laptop or computer program on obtaining a fan to replace the one that comes with the iCage.

Wife likes blue led behind my circumstances filter door. Really good worth. Makes wonderful use of three X five.25 bays. Quiet. Sharp, screws tough to insall in HD's unless you have baby fingers. Or far better tools then me. No rubber isolators, connector is a molex and not a motherboard 3 pin. I ordered a replacement fan for the motherboard. But it has an LED too! Quite worth it for the price and a small hassel. I wish I had located some silicon washers initial. But it is still incredibly quiet.

Nice sturdy build excellent, holds three drives, comes with a 120mm fan. Wonderful for expanding the drive possibilities in a smaller case,or an older case as is my situation.Installed with zero complications, fair directions. Photos on directions are to smaller, and who writes them anyway.Directions for installing into a case are for a Thermaltake case, but its not challenging to figure out exactly where to put it in yours. It is a excellent concept and I think additional case producers would do properly to have a modular line for a couple of of their circumstances. Why have a HDD cage that holds 7 drives when that room could be utilised for some thing else(lights, reservoir, tool box...)

This is a excellent way to put far more challenging drives into your case. I have four difficult drives ƒ in every single bay with a separation of an empty slot between each and every drive. That is, I have a hdd in the upper of the three slots on 1 cage, and then the second hdd on the lowest of the 3 slots). No kind of sound insolator. What I did was I added some foam among the hdd and the actual cage. That is, I have the hdd, and exactly where the drive screws are, I have some foam to preserve it quieter. It seems to help a lot. The cage could be simpler to slide into the case, but it still works excellent The fan has a Blue LED light. It is a connector to your motherboard, and thus tells the user the RPMs of the fan. The spin approx 1450rpm according to SpeedFan 4.33 They are fairly quiet, but I have heard quieter situations... however I have no complaints

Ran out of expansion bays for hard drives awhile back, and this allowed me to add 3 far more drives, brilliant. I hate the blue LEDs, they drove me crazy. I went in and cut the wires to the LEDs. Also, the way my case is shaped, the fan does not pull air in incredibly nicely, so I turned the fan around so it is now an exhaust fan.
