Thermaltake A2358 Dr. Power Power Supply Tester
Cons:It doesn't give specific power variations
Pros:Nice, easy to read display Comment:
This is a tidy little unit that simply lets you know if the power supply is sending power along the wire. I tested it on a known good and a known faulty hard drive and they both showed the appropriate lights for my expectations. In other words, this device works fine and is a steal at this price. |

Thermaltake A2358 Dr. Power Power Supply Tester
Cons:1.The Sata testing port looks a little large but,it should work.
Pros:1.Good product reputation2.Good Price3.Helps relive a potential headache Comment:
I needed a power supply tester for some time now but,I have never really seen one that I would trust. Some brands were like Fujiama and stuff like that. This will definetly help resolve issues down the road.It will rule out one major variable from a potential issue.I think everyone should have one. |

Thermaltake A2358 Dr. Power Power Supply Tester
Cons:NO DOCUMENTATION with the unit or from the website$16.50 is high; closer to $10-$12 is appropriate value
Pros:SimpleApparently well builtGood sound, nice LED Comment:
This device lets you rule out PSU problems when people are shouting at you that your (more likely mobo) problems are your PSU. You hook up your 24-pin connector to this, turn on the PSU switch, and you get a nice strong POST-like BEEP and (hopefully) all but one of the LEDs arranged around a circle come on bright green. There are no red LEDs. If something is wrong with your PSU or with Dr. Power or both, you get nothing. So I'm told. This is a very simple device, but there is no documentation for it at all. You can guess your way through, or else you can know enough that you would do your own more manual testing anyway and not need to buy Dr. Power. So it fills the gap for people who have enough savvy to want it and who will definitely wish there were some documentation for it—because you can plug in most of your other connectors as well, er, if only you knew just why you would do that. Dr. Power claims to emulate a PSU-with-load condition, but the word on the web is that it really does not do that adequately, and that's maybe why the additional variables are available.Who knows? Do you like guessing your way through your system tests? Then buy this cute little device. If someone asks you what Dr. Pepper has REALLY revealed to you, you can always say, "Darned if I know".Another Great Communications Moment in Computer Tech. |

Better than a VOM
Comment:
Just because the voltage reads "good" with a VOM; it doesn't mean the PSU is good. I learned that the hard way. The best 20 bucks you can spend on your tool box! Tiger Rocks! |

This unit will help minimize the guess part on finding out if your PS is the caused of any problems when you rtoubleshooting any systems. It is also great for system builders. |

A Great Tester! And to reply to dalesmedia, THIS unit DOES include SATA connections, it is the green circuit board underneath the Molex connector, sticking out, a SATA connection does plug in. Highly recommend this model compared to others Ive owned or reviewed |

Thermaltake A2358 Dr. Power Power Supply Tester
Comment:
I reviewed the details on the other testers offered on Tiger and chose this one because it places a load on the PSU. A PSU must be under load for a test to be reliable. Having received the tester and testing it on several PSUs it works well. The PSU under test is automatically powered up when connected. For testing live systems the +5 and +12 rails can be tested using an unused disk connection. THIS UNIT DOES NOT INCLUDE SATA CONNECTIONS. |

I can't complain about this at all. Works as advertised, very simplistic and great for troubleshooting desktop issues with power supply problems. Would recommend for any technician out on the field.
