bought this fan for a barebones kit. it on a athalon x2 4400(stock speeds) and after a few hours of installing os's updates and anything else i felt i needed the cpu temp was only 32 celcius did see it hit 34 at one point . the fan only comes with a 3 pin but will fit a 4 pin without rpm control and the cable was a little short for me but maybe thats just me.

Loved how easily it installed compared to the old Intel 478 socket. Very quiet and is enough to keep my AMD Athlon 64 X2 5050E (2.6 Gig)running cool enough. Am not a gamer so I do not run it faster than the rated speed.

Bought to go on a Athlon X2 4400+ - works great for that and it's insanely quiet, but I wouldn't use one on a high power system.

Great for keeping my AMD Phenom 2.2 X4 cool a bit of a tricky install but that could have been user error too. I do like how quiet it is, it only makes alot of noise if there is heavy load on the processor, but that is fine by me i usually have my speakers up if there is a heavy load on the processor (usually due to gaming).

I've given this CPU cooler five stars for quality despite my bad experiences with Thermatake products which have a tendency to suddenly quit working. So far, the cooler has behaved very well and does its job, and for a decent price. If it lasts, it's certainly worth the price, and looks quite nice installed, too. Unlike other Thermatake coolers I've used, this one installed easily without the usual danger of punching a screwdriver hole through your motherboard.

This is an excellent cooling fan. It runs quiet, was easy to install, and cooled my dual-core CPU by an additional 10 degrees. Great deal!

Easy to install although, as mentioned before, it crowds the nearer RAM slot. Very quiet, cools her Athlon X2 6000+ with no problems.

When I got this fan, I hooked it up. Did some work to the computer and had to restart it a few times and the fan did not start. Didn't notice until the screen froze. Went into the BIOS and the temp was 118 Celcius. Haven't had that problem for a while and but now it's too loud. I wrote a review because I'm back on this site to buy another one.

All in all a nice fan. No real thrills. I do take issue with the locking device...its very cheap and unstable. I really don't get a real tight lock like others I have installed, but it seems to work since the machine stays put. I would give it a ''BUY'' rating just due to the price value. Enjoy!

Works fine and quiet. No overheating problems with the Athlon 3500, have yet to O/C with it, however I don't expect it to perform any poorer. The fan in my case is much noiser than the the TR2-R1. I have recently changed the CPU to an Athlon 4200+ X2 and the fan has yet to be tested, the temperature runs at 39c and I have yet overclocked this one...

This is a great CPU Fan. I bought this for my first build and it went extremely smooth. I just have a AMD Athlon X2 4200+, and according to PC Probe II my CPU idles around 32C and the fan is at 1350-1400 RPM most of the time (with Q-fan installed). It worked well with the OZC thermal paste I have.

This is a good basic fan but its not much better than the stock AMD fan. The AMD stock cooler kept my 5000+ (slightly OCed to 2.7ghz) at 40C, this ones at 41C (idle). Because it's a multisocket cooler it is also more difficult to install and its bigger. Nice and quiet, gets the job done but not for OCing.

This cooling fan works fine if you are not overclocking your CPU. I have an AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+, and when I overclock by 5%, the temperature goes to around 53 degrees C when the CPU runs at 50% load. I am not sure whether this is bad or not, but it seems to be stable at that temp which is good. I think that the max temp for this CPU class is about 70 degrees C.
