Very quiet, though not a 'silent solution' as they claim. Good news is it stays very quiet under 100% load and still keeps my hot-running 3800 under 50C (idle is 34C). No replacement thermal gel is required; just clean off the old stuff from the processor before you install the new fan and the contact will be perfect. Solidly made and very easy to install; genuinely toolless installation, unlike most. No forcing needed. About the same cooling as the stock AMD fan but without all the extra noise under load and install hassle. Very good value. |

Can't really seem to find a better deal. For the price, you're getting a very quiet, very cool, and very reliable heatsink/fan. We've used quite a few of these in a number of systems running dual and quad cores. Does the job pretty well. Copper would've been nice, but not going to complain for the price. X2 5000+ runs around 40C under full load. www.renocomputerguy.com |

I bought this fan for my 5000+ x2, and I'm happy enough with the results. As my virgin build, I didn't know whether a 15 dollar hsf would do. It currently keeps my cpu at 35 Idle 51 Load with the supplied thermal grease. Much quieter than the 80mm fan that came with my case. As stated, this HSF may seem pretty large for those upgrading from sempron/pentium *lol*, but there is still plenty of room. Only downside is that it is only 3-pin: no fan control. I would buy this one again! |

This fan is BIGGER than other 80 mm fans, which means it can rotate at a lesser speed and still keep the same airflow as a smaller fan that rotate at higher speed. It is pretty efficient and is DEAD quiet. My iddle temp is around 35 celcius on an AMD 64X2 5000+, so unless you got a damaged one or bad thermal paste, its a pretty good fan and heatsink. And you can't beat that price!!! ;-) |

I recently purchased this fan it works great. One thing they don't tell you is that it comes with thermal heat sink compound pre-applied. So it is unnecessary to buy more heat sink compound.Wish I would have know this could have saved 10$ |

This fan/heatsink is very easy to install and works great. I am running the AMD quad 9550 and it keeps it really cool. Great price, If I would have paid double it still would have been a great buy |

its a good cpu fan and i like it; stayed at about 27C at idle and on full load hit just under 50C. did some slight modification to the unit, shaved down the alluminum on the bottom which decreased the wieght by about 3 grams, and helped decrease the temp by about 8C, so now max load hits about 40-44C. i like it and i reccomend it. |

Got this to cool my 5000+ BE as well. Same results as everyone else who posted a review - mid 20's at idle, into the 30's/40's under load. Fan spins 1300RPMs at idle which is near silent, but gets a little audible under load when it jumps to 1600+ RPMs. Not sure why this is only $15! Also, don't let the picture fool you. This unit is fairly large - it completely fills an AM2 bracket. |

Very nice HSF, and for $15 it's a deal. Keeps my AMD X2 5000+ BE about 27C at idle, and hasn't gone over about 46C with reasonable load so far. I didn't use the pre-applied thermal paste, I used AS5. I put the same HSF on another system similar to this one and it ran about 10 degrees hotter at idle with the TT paste, so if there's some heat issues, try Arctic Silver, or improve your case cooling overall. It's a very quiet unit, too. While it states it's rated at 1300 RPM, that's not quite correct. It's rated at that RPM plus or minus 30%, so it'll actually crank up to almost 1700 RPM. For basic computing, this thing is great! |

First one came to me DOA. Was replaced, but it still cost me to ship it back. Works well enough, and is quiet, but the DOA hassle may not be worth it, especially when you factor in the extra cost to return the DOA unit. |

For the price this thing works very well. Keeps my 5000 at 35 C even with a slight overclock to 2.7 ghz. comes with thermal paste on it. Used that for a while but then removed it. Works a whole lot better. Great buy. Really worth more than the price you pay. |

This is a great value. It quietly moves more air than higher-priced CPU fans. The compound is pre-applied and ready for a simple installation. The power cable is nicely wrapped and has good length. No complaints here... |

This thing is great...keeps my X2 4600+ (2.4 GHz to 2.76 GHz)at 36 degrees give or take a degree at normal operation. Using AIDA32, it reports it spinning at 3325 RPM. Go figure. And yes, I back up all others who say its dead silent while doing what it was meant to do. I recommend this cooler if you want to get great quality for less rather than the more expensive solution.
