Thermaltake eSports Challenger Pro USB Gaming Keyboard Red Backlit With Cooling Fan
Cons:fan is not very powerful... takes a really hot room to notice any difference
Pros:Comfortable, quiet, soft touch keys, backlit, looks good (subjective), USB ports, Cable routing. Comment:
So this keyboard took a lot of flack for the fan idea. It's kind of a useless feature, but don't discount the whole product because of it. It's a great keyboard, very comfortable to type on. The red WASD keys + red backlighting make it look awesome (or unbelievably geeky if you believe my wife's eye rolls). The keys are soft to touch, responsive, and much quieter than other keyboards (somewhat important for late night gaming... in a house with other people who could be disturbed).I absolutely love this keyboard. Software that comes with it is easy to set up, and being able to set groups of banks of hotkeys and then swap between them at the press of a button is great. No regrets on purchase. |
Bought this as I chewed up the cable on my g15. Took a while to get used to the low height keys. Overall the keyboard feels sturdier than the g15.The biggest annoyance is the backlight bleed around the keys. As I do a lot of work at night this is a problem as the bleeding light is brighter than the lit up keys making it difficult to type. That and the stupid bright TT logo on the wristrest turns on every time the machine boots up and won't shut off until the software gets loaded. Since I removed the software the stupid light won't turn off, so I used electrical tape.Overall the keyboard is ok, but it's not for me. Will be looking to replace when something pops up on sale.
