if you are looking for good USB flash with password protection then DONT buy this..if it says has security options with password..but actually it dose not...

This thing is great! I sent it thru the washing machine twice and the dryer once. No damage. All data was still intact both times! I've had this drive for quite some time and had no trouble. Maybe you peeps that are having trouble need to clean yours out by throwing it in the washer!!! (Don't really do that...it's just a joke)

I purchased the Transcend when it was $80. The original jetflash drive died at about four months. I send to Transcend without any issues. About five months later the replacement drive failed. I sent this drive to Transcend, it came back with a letter saying "Damaged Product" - Return to Customer Warranty Void. RMA # 090811015. I sent them a NON damaged drive. Don't buy this drive. When it fails you are stuck. I will buy Sandisk from now on.

Yeah, bought it, 3 days later, washed it, thing still works fine, kind of surprised. This is the second one I've owned, gave the other one to my father.

Have used flash drives for many years mostly PNY. These seem to be just as good at a better price with no cap to loose.

I have had it for three months ... it just crapped out on me. So NOT happy. And I thought about backing it up on Friday and it was on today's agenda. Ugh.

P.O.S. Failed right out of the box, throwing an error claiming the drive was write-protected after having let me write a couple of GB to it. Re-format did not help. Internet search revealed that this is a symptom of defective unit. Flimsy construction didn't inspire confidence either. $$$ wasted.

This was supposed to be my big deal replacement for my aging Memorex 1GB USB thumb drive. There is nothing noteworthy about this drive, it is flimsy and has already disconnected/reconnected itself several times in my computer's USB port. I will most likely break the housing open and keep the drive, and find a cap for it. This retractable idea is bad. The drive doesn't have a way of keeping dust from entering and messing your USB terminals. Whoever designed this drive should sell insurance, not be in the memory business. Overall, a disappointment!

Bought this to hold my entire music library and plugged it into the USB port (hidden in my glove compartment) on my car's stereo system. Works great, holds my entire library with plenty of space to spare, and it hasn't melted yet inside my glove compartment. A steal at $50.

16GB of storage on a fast stick with no cap to loose!!! Heaven. Format as NTFS and you can even carry full DVD images on the thing. Very cool. Even at the new price of $97 it's a Fracking steal. Buy two!!!
