Transcend StoreJet 2.5 Mobile 250GB 2.5" External Hard Drive

Similar drive stopped working after a couple of months. Even though it sat on my office desk as a backup drive(I never carried it around with my laptop, never exposed it to impact shocks or temperature changes) it just stopped working. Transcend didn't have any service centers ''in my region'' and they referred me to a retailer for service BUT I had to pay for the shipping to and from, and also be subject to service charges from the retailer. In other words, I had to pay to get it fixed. No deal for such a chep (in every possible context) drive. My advice: DO NOT buy. In fact do not buy ANY Transcend product 'cause if it breaks down, you'll be stuck with it. |
My Toshiba portable drive after only a year of light use is starting to fail. The Transcend promises to be sturdier and more reliable. No set-up was required, access time is quite fast, transferring files to and from my laptop is quick and painless. I haven't installed the software as I do the transfers manually. An excellent value for the dollar.
