Trendnet 450 Mbps Wireless N Gaming Adapter
Cons:ExpensiveShiny finish (finger print magnet)Rubber feet should be taller
Pros:FastStableGood signal Comment:
I was looking for a WiFi option for my TS-212 NAS and the support of USB WiFi is pitiful by QNAP. Came across this bridge by accident and gave it a shot. The 1st one had weak signal and dropped the LAN connection frequently. Transfer speed was around 20Mbps/2MBps only. The replaced unit is awesome. Strong signal with fast transfer which was tested to be 135.5Mbps/17MBps by Lan Speed Test when paired with the TEW-691GR. It is more expensive than I like but it works great in the end.I have noticed the transfer speed is a little faster with the included 2ft Cat5e cable than my own 1ft Cat5e, cleaned them with DeoxIT boosted the speed yet a little more. |
I purchased this about 1 1/2 yr ago and did not really need it at the time. When I went to use it last week with my network I had trouble connecting to me Linksys E4200. After a couple hours and a call to trendnet, who's tech help guy was great we still could not determine the issue. Level 2 support was on the way. While waiting I had the brain wave idea to check firmware. Dec 2012 there was an update to improve compatibility, Installed and it works great. I now have it connected to a desk top and will eventually use it for my PS3. Only down side is 2.40 Ghz freq range. Seams very solid after firmware update !
