Does a good job easily
Comment:
Installed easily, pity it needs such a big bay, and does its job without any fuss. I'll be using more of them for critical drives. |

Neat
Comment:
I like this overall. Some people might have some problems with the screw holes lining up, but if youre at all tech-mech savy it shouldn't be a problem at all. It feels warm to the touch which means it definitly takes heat away from the HD. This could potentially give your drive longer life. Could be a good investment. |

NON COMPATIBLE
Comment:
I was extremely excited about this Addition to my new build. almost more so than any other part i had ordered. When i placed my Western Digital 1TB Drive into the Ultra cooler and found out that the screw holes didn't Line up anywhere near where they should of. DISAPPOINTMENT |

High Quality passive cooling
Comment:
These are quality drive coolers. A Nice massive aluminum body and heat fins along with four sintered heat pipes provide ample cooling for your hard working drives. Drawing the heat away from the drive case onto the heat disbursing aluminum sinks and heat pipes passively will assure a longer life for your drives. The rubber shock mounts absorb vibration and the massive body minimizes noise. Excellent buy for that dream machine.... |

Works
Comment:
Replaced 4 noisy HD fans with this and 1 case fan. It's installed in an Olde Tyme Dell P4 machine (tip on these: reverse the lower 'chip' fan to blow out instead of in) that ran 104-124F from the factory (!). Between this and the additional case fan (blowing in fron the bottom side) the machine now runs 84-97F and is whisper quiet. The cooler is quite large so you will need an extra bay to install correctly (or just zip-tie the sucker to the front of the case like I did). |

Good Deal

It bolted right up and dropped the temp. I'll buy it again. |

Awesome Cooler
Comment:
This drive cooler is great, it keeps the temp cooler than the case temp. I have an Antec 902 case, I had to drill new holes because of the front fans, but it was a breeze. I also love the rubber anti vibration mounts. Definitely putting in all my builds. |

This is worth the money
Comment:
The only bad thing about this is it might take up two slots because of its size. This product works very well. |

Great Product
Comment:
When I bought this I knew I was gonna have to move it into a larger bay - did that, mission accomplished. There was a massive change in drive and case temperature. I will be buying these for my other pc's as well. |

Great Cooler - Difficult Installation
Comment:
This cooler works like a champion! Hard drive is running 30 degrees C. Other drives in the 40's and 50's in the same case. Installing in the tool-less CM Cosmos case is a non-starter. I had to adapt a pair of 3.5 to 5.25 adapter brackets to allow the Ultra HD Cooler to work in the upper bays. Having said that, I have ordered a second one because it works so well, now that I know what to do. |

Pretty Sweet
Comment:
Installation was a breeze, looks nice, keeps my HDD running smoothly at a cooler temp. The only downfalls to this item is that you have to install your HDD in the 5.25 bay, and that it wasn't free. Other than that, get one. or two. |

Product won't hold hard drives - cannot use
Comment:
I purchased two of these for use with 1.5TB drives. When I tried to install them the screw holes did NOT match up with the screw holes on the drives. This made them absolutely unusable. Also, even if the drives did fit, they are so BIG that it would have been impossible to use two of them in the 5.25" drive cage in the computer. You cannot use them - except in the 5.25" slots, so that further defeated our use. They were both shipped back to Tiger. |

Great Product with inconviece
Comment:
Not being a computer hardware genius, I didnt realize that my case was considered tool less. Duhhh. I finally made a couple of brackets and modified the original mounting bracket for my HD and It works great. I really like the lack of power consumption, and it is quiet. Have a small windmill on my CPU for a cooler in a tower and it works well with the HD cooler. Greaat price and Guarantee and The shipping was awsome. Dave |

Excellent Quality
Comment:
I was surprised to find such good quality and well thought out engineering. It fits well into a 5 1/4 inch bay, problematic if you only have a 3 1/5 inch bay to work with. High quality aluminum and cools extremely well, I installed it onto a already warm hard drive and it was cool by the time I installed it back into the case. Well worth twice the price! |

Great cooling but beware of tooless cases.
Comment:
This hard drive cooler looks really sleek and cools fairly well. The anti-shock and vibration also seems to do their job well, however, because of them this cooler is nearly impossible to install in tooless 5.25 drive bays because it is suspended. Only if you have optional screw mounts on both sides as well would I recommend this. I ended up having to bend and snap parts of my case to make holes for this to mount on. Other than that I'm really happy with them. I bought three. They also come with a three year warranty which ain't bad at all. If you have the proper mounting options highly recommend this. |

Have tools at the ready
Comment:
I have a NZXT case which does not require any screws for the installation of drives so i had some minor trouble mounting the cooler. But overall I would still say that the cooler is well worth the money if you use your computer a lot. If you are a light duty user, i'm not sure you need this product. Under ideal circumstances this cooler can reduce the temp of your HDD by over 10 degrees C. |

Does the job, may be some mech. considerations
Comment:
I bought a case with "no tool" latch system for the 5.25 bays and had to remove the latch coorosponding to the HD Cooler bay and then slightly drill the mounting hole positions on the case due to they were undersize. Due to others' reviews I already knew I would have to do that, but it's worth the extra 10 minutes of your life because this thing works good, I like the "no power required" part, our president would be proud. If your case has room this is a great cooling solution. |

Poor fit for hard drive and case
Comment:
This cooler seems to work as advertised. It doesn't fit as well with my hard drive and case. However, my hard drive does stay cooler. I probally should have done a bit more homework before ordering, but it does work. |

Ultra Aluminum Hard Drive Cooler with Heatpipes
Comment:
Keeps the hard drive as cool as my other hard drive that has a fan. Works perfect for converting a 3 1/2 inch to 5 1/4 inch space. I have 5 of these in my 8 TB server where heat was a problem earlier. I will use additional heat sinks in my my other three pc's soon. |

Ultra Aluminum Hard Drive Cooler with Heatpipes
Comment:
Mounting hardware only fits 5'' drive bays (which I have never seen before) or, if you have a rail kit, you might get it to fit into a standard 5-1/4'' drive bay. If you have ''tool less'' drive bays, forget it. The heat pipes are probably just to keep both sides of the drive at equal temperature. I suspect the base aluminum drive chasis does this anyway. Since I honestly can't use the product in any of my systems (and I have a bunch and variety) I rate its value as 0 for non-compatibility, though if someone can get it to fit, the features, quality, and performance are probably acceptable. |

Ultra Aluminum Hard Drive Cooler with Heatpipes
Comment:
gave performance a 3 because its passive, i personally drilled some holes and mounted a nice 120mm fan on top whoooo weee hdd is now 27 C they were 45 on average i have a 147 gb SCSI cheetah hard drive that was running a little to hot for me but now no worries by they way for those of you who dont know what SCSI drive are they are server hard drives and usually spin at 15k rpms which is what mine is at. No questions get this and put a fan of some sort on it because passive cooling was for hardware 10 years ago |

Ultra Aluminum Hard Drive Cooler with Heatpipes
Comment:
I don't have a PhD in thermodynamics, but it's obvious that the ''heat pipes'' merely transfer heat from one side of the hard drive to the other. If both sides are the same temperature, no heat will flow. The only cooling benefit comes from the finned heatsink on top. The pipe should pass through that, but doesn't. As useful as a Cherrybomb muffler on a Honda Civic, all flash and no benefit. |
Not a bad buy unless you want to get up and running quickly. First it's not built for every hard drive in mind. I could only put two screws in the front and had to make sure they were tight enough so the back of the hard drive wouldn't slide down. Putting it in the five and a half inch bay required some drilling as some of the holes in the case were too small for the screws. I fell this was a good purchase but it was a little bit of a hassle. It'd be better if they had more holes for different hard drive configurations.
