Missing SATA power wire
Comment:
Works great but you need the SATA power cable if you want to use this in an old IDE computer. Would have been nice if that would have been in the description before I bought it. |

The instructions are not perfect, however this small board does work well as claimed. Be certain to connect the the drive power lead and all will be well!! |

gave it fours for a reason
Comment:
this thing gets four because I had to fight with it and fight with it to make it work now I made it work but that was with no help with the instructions that came with it They were pictures and that is it so let me give some advise for install first if connecting IDE HDD to a SATA port pin the HDD to cable select second if you are using a different HDD to run your OS the make sure you set your BIOS to run that HDD yes I know I sound stupid to some but those tips would have saved me a lot of time |

No Problems
Comment:
I used this to adapt an old IDE hard drive to the SATA interface on a new MB. The drive was immediately recognized and everything worked as advertised. |

It is working like it's supposed to. Installation was a snap. If you build your own computer you should have no problems. |

Very Good Device
Comment:
I bought this device to use it in my old USB enclosure (I think it is USB 1.1) that has an IDE interface, with a SATA HDD. It did not work; neither Linux or Windows Vista could see the unformatted HDD. However, it worked perfectly inside my computer, installed on the motherboard's IDE port. After I formatted the new SATA HDD, I moved the device and the HDD back into my enclosure, but it still did not work. Too many conversions, I guess... So, they went back inside my computer, where they work great ever since. As mentioned in other reviews, I had to buy the missing cable... for few bucks (not a complaint, just a note). I gave the device 5 stars all over because it works. |

Fair Product, Works but is Large
Comment:
Adapter has stopped working after using for approx 50 hours. Began to have harddrive errors often, then boot problems randomly, then no boot at all. Removed adapter and all is well again. |

Great product!
Comment:
Installation couldn't be easier - just plug it into your IDE connection and connect a power connector. It's instantly ready for a SATA connection. Works perfectly! Just make sure you have enough power plugs and the correct type for each component. |

didn't work for me
Comment:
Picked up this device to be able to use existing devices in a new build. It didn't work with the CD-DVD drive or either of my hard drives. I returned it for a refund. (by the way, I haven't seen that yet either). |

Great product-except
Comment:
Plugs in and works great, except I had to buy an additional powerlead adaptor cable to get 4 pin power to the sata drive. |

Quick and simple
Comment:
Plug it in and you are all set, works flawlessly. Would be nice a nice improvement if you were able two use 2 sata drives with it instead of just a single one.... |

Did not work at all
Comment:
This thing didn't work on either my HP Digital Entertainment Center or my newer Intel DP55WB motherboard. Also, I had to buy a 4 pin splitter for one unit and a SATA to 4 pin converter for the other unit because you need an extra 4 pin power source. All in all dissapointing. |

good quality but little more over priced
Comment:
works Perfectly alright with my HP pavilion a6433w. it's really easy to install. i don't find any delay when i click on my drive or copy something into my drive. so i have to say it's fast and reliable. Little bit over priced in terms of other sites |

Could do better
Comment:
Instructions are useless, broke one of the pins on my drive just plugging it in, guess they took the advice someone gave about the connection being loose, as mine was so tight one pin was push right down into the drive. There are better alternatives on the market, glad I didn't pay much for this as it isn't much of a loss. |

Perfect? Not Hardly
Comment:
This device MIGHT work with full cases, but beware if you have a tight mid case, my mobo places the pri and sec IDE sockets over by the harddrive bays and the mounting interferes with this adapter, which understandably stick up, when you try to close the case. But that was minor compared to the reality that this adapter is designed to accomodate using ONE AND ONLY ONE SATA drive in an IDE environment, it eats up the IDE socket at the mobo because it's a female, rather than a male adapter that would be inserted into ribbon connector which has multiple female sockets for second and thid HD's as is typical. The company materials never give you that heads up on the stuff. Buyer beware! My sec IDE socket is for the dvd, but that ribbon too has multiple female sockets as usual. What am I missing? |
I connected this item to my computer with an older hard drive. It locked up my system and wiped out my original hard drive. I disconnected product and had to reload my os.
