I've had mine for a few years now. It was a great idea to reuse my old hard drive after upgrading to a faster and bigger one. It's been through some wear and tear, but it still works well. So over all, it's a good deal and works great.

I HAD TWO LAPTOP HDD'S SITTING IN A DRAWER, I BOUGHT TWO OF THESE,COULD HAVE BEEN LOWER IN PRICE BUT THEY WORK GREAT PLUGGED INTO TWO DESKTOP PC'S CHEAP WAY OF HAVEING AN EXTERNAL HDD TO CARRY IN POCKET, BETTER THAN A MEMORY STICK!!!

I bought this enclosure for a drive I had sitting around after upgrading my PS3...it's a pretty basic case, very easy install and utilizes only one USB port for power-transfer. All in all it's a good buy; works as intended, no issues so far. One thing to note enclosure DID NOT come with the pictured black USB Male to Power plug with a USB-female adapter.

From the carry sleeve tot he super tiny phillips head screwdriver I needed, this unit came complete. It was nice to just bolt stuff together and have everything work exactly as expected. The screws are definitely VERY small, but that is likely why I worked so hard not to drop or lose one. Once together, the unit plugged into my USB port and performs flawlessly. I really don't know what the software is for, but it's there, for the Windows folks, I guess. Overall, it's a great unit, comes with everything to be a complete solution!

Excellent product. Easy to install 2.5 drive into. Screws are very small, just take your time. I just wish the case would come with utility or security software. I will buy a second one.

I've had several enclosures in the past, this is best one yet. metal case stays cool, easy to install and use. only downside is the tiny screws holding the case together, but it's not a major pain.

Perfect for the newer, faster SATA interface, in the smaller format for on the road use.. No Power adapter required, gets power from the USB.

Very easy to install. May be troublesome for those not too mechanically inclined to put the enclosure together with such tiny screws. Just plug in the two usb inputs and the drive loads itself. I am a computer novice and the installation was simple for me. Thanks. Bboy

pros inexpensive. sturdy aluminum casing. it works well. connectors are sturdy. slips into a laptop bag pockets nicely cons no shock protection internally given there is wasted space inside. screws too small so it's a pain to even consider opening it again. ugly logo printing on an otherwise very nice aluminum cover. useless second set of blue aluminum covers. top and bottom aluminum covers are different shape and cannot be interchanged.

Works as advertised, I didn't know they made screws that small... Shipping was fast also. If you have a 2.5 SATA drive this is a good buy.

Works great and does not need the power adapter with my mac. the only dray back is that the faux leather case is ugly. Other than that the enclosure works perfectly.

This was defective when I received it. It worked for 5-10 minutes, then would freeze up. It took 1 hour before it would function again. I did not get another. This retailer, as always, was great about their returns. No questions, and a prompt refund of the purchase price.

As usual Ultra has a high quality product and it couldn't be simpler to assemble. The hardest part was removing the case from the package. An excellent value highly recommended.

These enclosures are not supposed to be difficult to use, and this one certainly fits that bill. The only issue is the very tiny screws used to secure the housing. I had to get out the "good" glasses to see them accurately! Once the drive was inserted, I plugged it in and it worked like a charm. Like other posts, I didn't really need to plug in the extra power cable - the data USB cable provides enough power to run the unit.

I bought this to use a 160 gb hard drive i had. It came to my house a day earlier than expected. Installation was fast and easy although the screws were small but you only have to deal with them once. I plugged it into my computer and formatted it. It started working right away. Also you dont have to use the power cord but is recommended. Great product and great deal for a 160 gb external hard drive. Thanks!

Needed to reformat my HD and reinstall WinXP Pro after aquiring a root kit trojan virus (thanks for nothing, McAfee Internet Security Suite) Instead, upgraded HD and used this enclosure to recover most of my data files from the corrupted drive. Only wish I'd seen this: Ultra ULT40326 Hard Drive Dock - 2.5''/3.5'' SATA to USB 2.0, Flash Card Reader, 2 Port USB Hub before my purchase.

well just put it together vista 64bit picked up in 2-3 secs bonus...so far i havent put those wee wee screws in yet hehe...have another ultra case for my 3.5 ide hd.....that 1 been handy so far been a yr. now... can't argue regarding ULTRA products so far... i would recomend it.......
