Product came on a timely manner. Works exactly as the web site promised and the video tutorial helped a lot. I have been using this for about a week now and the case is excellent. The aluminum enclosure def makes it run cooler and the extras were a bonus. I would buy Ultra again.

Works as advertised, even better. Did a 160Gb backup on a 250GB 7500rpm HD and the Enclosure was just warm, stand on edge, did a great job keeping the HD cool. Have 2, works great with a laptop, no power adapter needed. Highly recommend for people on the go. Fits in shirt pocket.

Process to acquire excellent. HD installation into case easily done. Case runs cool to the touch at ambient or slightly above. Formatted HD out of Vista with two partitions with no problem. USB transfer rate 0.4 MBS. Had hoped for faster transfer.

The enclosure worked exactly as I needed it to. It even came with the USB cord, and a USB to power cord (Which I haven't had to use yet.) in case the first USB cord isn't providing enough power. Edit: After about 2 months of using it, the usb port on the case itself came off the board. By this time, I had already thrown out the warranty info. from ULTRA. Long story short, if you buy this, keep the warranty info.

Scorpio Blue WD7500KEVT 750GB drive would not fit into enclosure, the drive is too thick. I was able to use the enclosure for an old drive from another computer.

the ultra is a superb harddrive case! it was easy to install and run. it also came with cables for the drive, cover, and a tiny screw driver so you don't need to have one ready. i highly recommend this to anyone that want a harddrive case.

I got this so I could use a hard drive from a dead laptop as extra storage. It is quite easy to put together, with a snug fit. My only issue was getting the tiny screws installed as you have to maneuver in the grooves where the outer frame slides in. Once together it is quite elegant, more so than most elegant enclosure's and it performs beautifully. Combined with the hard drive it made a fast almost dead silent and cool running external. Great for data recovery, but if combined with a high quality drive it makes a most superb external drive

This enclosure is not what I would call snap-together. The drive fits very snuggly, and the side bars are a pain to get in. When it's finally together, seems great so far! Hard drive is a 7200 RPM MBP hard drive; not loud and quite fast. I would recommend this.

i bought this to put my old 80gb ps3 drive and made it into a external drive. only had it about a month but so far so good. i don't use it that much but probably have transered a few hundred gb using it so far. mostly between my ps3, laptop, and download computer. its worked quickly, quietly, and only gets slightly warm even when transfering. The metal case help transfer the heat outward which must help the drive performance and longevity. i use the extra power cord hoping it might make things faster, but i don't its necessary. Easy to put together, easy to use. There is another version on here with esata for those who want it. At delivery one screw was broken they shipped out a set of each. Gr8 company.

made purchase for Ultra ULT40244 on Tuesday recieved a Ultra ULT40243 on Thursday. When I called customer services they told me that the e-sata version was not for sale and that it was my fault, that I made the mistake. Now i have to pay to ship it back and wait a full week to get my money back for there mistake.

I needed this to back up a Compaq F739's hard drive; the hard drive didn't fit into the case but all I needed was the circuit board and the cable. The instructions weren't very explicit but it was simple to figure out.

Fairly easy to assemble. It's a very tight fit, but solid enclosure. Love it!

As a convenient backup HD or a portable HD to accompany your travelling laptop it works as expected. Be sure to check heat issues for the largest 2.5" drives (500GB) running at 7200 rpm as they may require more ventilation when run for long periods.
