This enclosure is on the computer in my patrol car snd prety much lves there. It takes all the heat, all the bumps, all the on-offs, and all the weather that my tough-book takes and has not failed me yet. Best way to make a cheap spare storage drive ever. Thanks.

It's quite strong when all assembled but when disassembled feels quite flimsy. I ordered two, one came with a perfect screw driver, the other came with a screwdriver with a lopsided philips head which would only strip screw heads. If you're buying an external hard-drive case, odds are you'll have no problem assembling this and getting it to work. I plan to put a few 3M rubber feet on the bottom to keep it from sliding on my desk.

Excellent product for portable storage. I have had no problems; the unit stays cool and is very quiet. I would highly recommend this product.

The precarious nature of this drive connection and the fact that is strictly powered by USB causes it to shut down without being ejected. As a result, this has created a head crash wiping out the drive. Fortunately it was a new backup drive, so I didn't lose any data, but now I have replace a drive. I would also go with the better enclosure that has the ESata option.

An excellent enclosure; It performs to expectations. I had to add a small piece of padding to the interior of the case on the back side to stop the rattling sounds of the circuit board inside the case.

This case is totally sturdy, and screws all fasten tight. (I installed a old 160gb drive from a Macbook Pro) Fit together smoothly and drive was super easy to install! Completely worth the price.
