So far so good, easy set-up, just slide your drive in and screw everything in, even comes with the right sized screwdriver. plug and play, perfect to use if you have an old laptop drive collecting dust, bought a new drive for my laptop and threw my old 120 gb drive into this, works GREAT. love it. Definately recommended!

I ordered this HD enclosure to make use of a 250 GB drive replaced by a 320 GB. Assembly and installation took less than 5 minutes from opening packaging to successful device installation and use of the drive. Having the ability to use USB 1.1 or 2.0 as well as the additional function of eSata was a huge determining factor. I use the USB with my laptop and eSata with my desktop. I especially like the fact that ALL the cables were included, and the addition of an eSata PCI bracket for desktop cases was very thoughtful. The only recommendation I would make would be to delete the USB Data and Power Cables and instead supply a USB Y-cable to simplify hook up and limit cables. Although on my laptop I only needed the USB Data cable, using the USB power cable in conjunction with the Data cable seemed to speed data transfer. Overall, I gave 5 Stars because of form, fit, finish, function and the inclusion of ALL necessary hardware, cables, screws, screwdriver and pouch.

This enclosure was purchased to house a 500GB WD drive. Another enclosure which I had worked fine with drives less than 500GB but did not work reliably with drives 500 GB and greater, although their literature claimed that it would work with drives of any size. The Ultra drive was easy to install and worked like a champ.

This is a great little case and I liked how stable it held the hard drive in place and kept it cool and quiet. Directions were easy and no problems with 'some assembly required.'

This product is very solid. Installed a hard drive from an old laptop and had everything up and running in 10min. Brushed aluminum case is very nice and this product comes with more cables then you will ever need. Tried to break it in half and it wouldn't budge. Another great Ultra product and best bang for your buck for a 2.5 enclosure.

quick and easy to install, comes with alll the tools required, pluh HDD in, seal it up, plug it in, and your good to go. unfortunatley it cannot draw power from eSATA, and requires a power adapter,that is provided. verry nice product, good price, and looks very durable.

It is simple. This 2.5 enclosure is solid in its construction and reliability. I like the fact that I can power it with a USB Y-data-power cable and not just the DC 5V cable provided. For the value, you may not find a better enclosure, as long as you like the slim book-like shape, the features, and the simple and elegant brushed aluminum construction.

Received this enclosure and was installing it with fingures crossed(if you know what I mean)was ready the reveiws and was just wondering and hoping it would work, I install my 80g Hard drive (a old one that been sitting around)and yes they send a screw driver and extra screws, plugged in the esata cord and power cord, had to go to my computer manager and format it (it showed up as a unallocated Drive)after about 15 min of formatting and it worked perfect, According to the reveiw it said you had to use the E-sata and power cord, but I plugged it in with the USB only and YES it still work prefect. and just as good, I rate this Very high for money, easy install, and quality and performance, By the way my system is a Vista 64bit.G50VT.

It has everything I needed, usb and E-sata, except I would had like to have a wall power cord. Otherwise it take 2 usb port to make it work and because my router usb port is not providing enough power on one port to make the HDD start properly. Not to mention that some router only has one port...

Really well made enclosure of aluminum with good fit. This is a great kit with all the pieces you need... screws, cables and even a little screwdriver. I would suggest to others.

Everything you need is included. Works great. The enclosure is of high quality and looks great as well. I have a 3.5 enclosure from another supplier, but this Ultra is is much better. I recommended this product to a friend and he also ordered one.

Great enclosure, loved it so much I bought a 2nd. I like the SATA connection option with the SATA extension cord and card to attach to motherbord. unfortnatly I cant take advanage of the card as I have a laptop

I took apart one of my old plastic external cases to get at the 500gb hard drive inside. All i can say is it is just awesome and im totally buying another one right after im done with this review. this is totally a 5 star product all the way.

The reviews are dead on, except for one thing i sorely miss. I really wanted a drive that would be powered from ONE USB cable, and for many PCs this is true. But I also have a Mac laptop and some of the iMacs at work need both cables in order to power this thing. That did not happen with the 500 gig LaCie that I bought last Christmas. Aside from that single issue, I could not be happier with this enclosure.

All I can say is I love it. Does the job, stays cool while doing it. Bought a attachment kit so I could attach to rear of laptop screen so it is just as mobile as me.

As someone who has purchased a lot of cheap, low-quality enclosures in the past, I was incredibly impressed with the solid functionality and build quality of this Ultra enclosure. Not only does the unit come with ever part and cable you could possibly need, it looks and feels fantastic. It feels like my hard drive is encased in titanium! If you're looking for the best hard drive enclosure, look no further!

Watch the video, it tells you pretty much everything. And it works as advertised. Installation is easy. After you remove the top and slide in the drive, don't forget to remove the sides to get access to the mounting screws. Buy the version with eSATA : greatly improved transfer times over USB (depending on the drive you put in it), which is very nice for system back-ups (I can make a complete image of my 32 Gb Vista 64 system & programs drive in less than 15 minutes) and other large file operations. If your laptop doesn't have an eSATA port, you can get an Express card at JMICRON.
