Does what it is ment to do

This is the second SATA card I have gotten from this Vantec. Both work fine. Drivers supplied on disc worked in WHS. There web site is also set up to easily get drivers from. Both IDE and all SATA ports work well |

Does what I need it to do and is recognized on Windows 7 and Ubuntu Ultimate edition 2.3. No problems. I'm satisfied with it. |

Good price, but trouble setting up

Use with My Book Home bought from Tiger. Had to purchase eSATA cable as I didn't know they were different than SATA cables supplied with unit. Wouldn't connect. Found a blog that said to trim back the plugs on the eSATA cable; this got it to connect. Used the supplied CD for installation on Vista, but the My Book kept going to sleep before Vista could boot; then Vista would lock up. Card is sold as Vantec, but made by Jmicron. Got the latest Jmicron drivers. Solved the sleep problem and now works great. Question the throughput; only 700Mbps not 2.5-3Gbps in SATA mode. PC has fast hard disks and fast Xeon CPU, so not sure what the issue is, but still faster that USB or 1394. |

I'm a SATA junkie and bought this to add more SATA ports to my system that already has 5. The card went into a system with Windows 7 on it. Windows 7 seemed to add it but the devices never showed up. However, once I used the install disk that came with it (it has Vista drivers that work) everything started working great. I'm not using the other ports, currently. |
Card works fine
