VANTEC UGT-ST350CB SATA PCMCIA Card
Cons:price, availability
Pros:esata, speed Comment:
I bought this with NexStar3. I have 4 year old Xnote.I needed to transfer alot of pictures and videos on mylaptop to external hardrive. I was about 80G ofpics and mpgs. I didn't want to wait hours. Esata was the solution and whoa~~ tranfer everythingin like 15 min or something.. (can't remember but it wassuper fast). I'd totally buy this again if I needesata for laptop that odesn't have esata port. |

VANTEC UGT-ST350CB SATA PCMCIA Card
Cons:The connector is a little bulky.
Pros:AffordableFast Comment:
eSATA rocks and I don't know why it isn't more popular for external hard drives. It's not expensive and is much faster than even FireWire 800. The cables are more flexible and easier to deal with.I used this card to connect an external drive to my ThinkPad T61. The card comes with drivers on a CD but I went to the Vantec website to get the latest ones just in case. Installation was a breeze.According to HD_Speed, the sustained transfer rate from the external drive is twice (!) as fast as from the internal laptop drive. Nice. |
It does the perfect job on my laptop so i can use eSATA Drives. Works perfectly with my Verbatim eSATA drive.Good buy.
