Vantec 58-in-1 Internal USB 2.0 Card Reader For 3.5" or 5.25" Drive Bay
Cons:the red light on the front is constantly on
Pros:Read/Writes a lot of different types of cards Comment:
I bought this to fill up and empty space left by my DVD-Rom drive. The plastic doesn't seem to be the best quality but it did the job. I really don't like how the red light is on all the time, even if there's nothing in any of the slots. |

Vantec 58-in-1 Internal USB 2.0 Card Reader For 3.5" or 5.25" Drive Bay
Cons:None
Pros:3.5" option Comment:
Had a big hole in the front of my new build. Wanted to fill it and have a simple card reader without sata. Happy with this, works fine all round. Don't know about the sound, not interested whether it had it or not. |

Vantec 58-in-1 Internal USB 2.0 Card Reader For 3.5" or 5.25" Drive Bay
Cons:Average speed
Pros:Multiple card formats, extra usb port Comment:
It's a nice accessory that works well. Transfer speeds are not the best, but you'll notice that only with fast cards. The extra USB port is a nice bonus. |

Vantec 58-in-1 Internal USB 2.0 Card Reader For 3.5" or 5.25" Drive Bay
Cons:none so far
Pros:well built, reasonably priced, can be mounted on 2.5" and 3.5" slots Comment:
This is to replace my other multi-card reader which was bought a few years back and cannot read SDHC cards. I have tested it with a number of card formats and it reads them flawlessly. The front USB port is a welcome addition. |

Pros:Nice lookingMemory slots works fineEasy installation Comment:
It works fine with SD cards but I can't make my Corsair 4gb USB 2.0 flash drive to work properly, it always disconnect, but it works fine in a rear usb port. Not sure what's the problem. |

Vantec 58-in-1 Internal USB 2.0 Card Reader For 3.5" or 5.25" Drive Bay
Cons:Slightly higher price than other card readers but more versatile. Some cards stick out quite a bit when inserted. Some cards need to be inserted label-down (non-intuitive).
Pros:Reliability. Versatility. Designed to use in 5.25" (with adapter) or 3.5" bay. Reads many card types. Comment:
I've bought quite a few of these over the past few months for machines I've been building. I haven't seen one DOA yet unlike some other card readers I've ordered before. Overall I've been pleased with the reliability of them. I haven't been able to test many card types with it, but the ones I have tried (about a half-dozen) or so have worked flawlessly. Sometimes the cards have to be put in label-down which is not entirely intuitive but they have worked nontheless-- which is the main thing. The manufacturer page states that it reads SDHC cards but the box does not. I haven't tried SDHC yet to verify. |
I love this reader and had a older Vantec before which has been moved to another system. The USB cable is nice and long and should fit any case/motherboard combo. Comes with a dozen screws but you will only need 4 to 6 depending on your case. Great value!
