All my old drives I don't really need anymore go into these cases. Often on sale for quite cheap and offer good protection and better ease of use than leaving them naked and struggling with adapters if you ever need the data. Great value, quality for price is quite high.

Other than the case being a bit flimsy, I love the ease of setup, the cost and the fact that after my wife's super old laptop died I was still able to recover data from there and use it as a back up drive or to store all those Asian dramas for my mother LOL

I've bought a lot of these enclosures, as I've upgraded many laptops with SSD's. I've never had a problem with one.

bought this to use with wii u. works fine so far. to bad it didn't include carrying case but at this price it was worth it.

I have a WD blue drive that my Wii console was not able to power with the Y-Cable. However a different drive. Seagate I believe worked fine.Apparently either the Wii cannot output enough power for specific 2.5" drives over 2 USB ports or the enclosure itself has some flaw.Not really sure.

Bought this to replace a similar startech product that broke on me. The price is good, and it looks a little bit sturdier than my old enclosure.

I replaced the old 128 GB HDD with an SSD in a HP laptop, so got this enclosure to use for the old drive. It works great, as expected. Installation was easy. This enclosure isn't much bigger than the 2.5" HDD that goes in it, so it's very portable. For around $10, I've got a 128 GB back up drive for the laptop! This my 3rd Vantec external drive and they have all been very good.

Sturdy building, product is as advertised, Functions. Doesn't come with a a piece of pizza. Becoming truly nitpicky right here but one of the screws that secures the HDD caddy in spot isn't totaly flush but it tends to make zero diffrence. Just a note, since it's a Y cable you want to use the 1 usb connector with each cables going into for the method to detect it.

It's a really hard drive enclosure. It performs out of the box and installing the disk rather simply with the tools that it comes with. - It's not specifically function rich, but it's affordable, performs, and it's a HD enclosure, what additional do you want?

Wonderful tiny enclosure. Lightweight aluminum develop. I paired it with a "HITACHI Travelstar H2IK5001672SP ƐS02858) 500GB 7200 RPM 2.5" SATA three.0Gb/s Internal Notebook Hard Drive" to generate an external drive for backups. I can transfer 12gb pictures for hours on finish, and the drive BARELY gets warm to the touch. It's so quiet you wouldn't even know it was on, if not for the power LED. I have only found one laptop that desires both USB ends connected to draw sufficient power. The other six or seven Pc's I have applied it with function fine with just a single USB-A connection. I am Really pleased with the unit, and it was a steal for ten bucks! None. The enclosure is slightly "wider" than an typical two.five" drive. I suppose to accommodate unique drive producers that may have slightly diverse size drives. I applied a 2x2 piece of cardboard from the packaging to spot in between the side of the enclosure and the circuit board of the really hard drive. Drive now fits good and snug with no any wiggle-area; great balance of design and functionality.

Low cost and does what it says on the box. Not constructed incredibly heavily, but what do you count on for this cost? Operates wonders with a surplus laptop drive to make a low cost but powerful external backup or data drive.

Appears much better than the cheapy enclosures for the exact same price tag. Solid develop excellent and it came in a fairly box. Drive does not securely fit inside and is just held on by the connectors (-1 star). JMicron controller, Tough drive requirements to be formated ahead of becoming put in the enclosure.

I got it in 4 days. It is ok product. The screws to hold the connector were too flimsy but you got couple extra screws. I put the hard drive in the enclosure in no time.

Cheap enclosure to put a spare 2.5" drive in. Nice that it comes with a screwdriver, as well as case + cable. Drive fits loose inside and the screws are tiny and easy to lose.

Compact, metal enclosure, easy, rapidly, looks fantastic, comes with pouch, bullet proof. Needs two USB ports, USB two. Can't be upgraded to USB three. but's nonetheless fairly rapid as USB 2.. With free of charge shipping this is an amazing deal. The largest drawback is that it requires two USB ports, a single for power, one particular for information.

Utilized this to upgrade a laptop hd. Assembly was simple, comes with a usb Y-cord and a cover. Had no issues with OS transfer. None. This seemed slightly better than some of the other enclosures I've applied. The drive seemed to match a little a lot more snug to keep it from moving about when transporting.As usual, a fantastic deal from Newegg.

Low-cost, modest, does what it says. I really like that I can now run my old 80gb 5400rpm laptop hard drive as an external drive with no power wires required. It only utilizes 1 usb port for a 5400rpm drive. None so far. The included case is low cost, but it's a good freebe.

I necessary a SATA unit and this was on SALE!! It operates and the case is metal, not affordable plastic. It came with a smaller screwdriver, and a plastic sheet for insulation against the hard drive bottom and case. Nice touch. none Good unit for occasional use. But not for day-to-day repair requirements.
