Vantec UGT-ST300 eSATA Serial ATA Controller Card PCI 1INT 1EXT
Cons:none
Pros:Allows one to add internal SATA port and external eSATA port.Easy install and performs well. Comment:
Added this card to my ASUS board in order to get an external eSATA port, and it works very well. Easy install. XP recognizes the drive on hot plugging, but Safely Remove does not see the drive (i have an ATI SB4XX southbridge); i simply disable or uninstall the drive in Device Drivers before unplugging. |

Vantec UGT-ST300 eSATA Serial ATA Controller Card PCI 1INT 1EXT
Cons:N/A
Pros:Easy to install and gets you going fast Comment:
I have a Dell and wanted a third drive for my system.. Bought a 500GB and found that my Dimension only supports two drives... so I got this card and it took me 5 minutes to install, I attached the drive and booted up, installed the drivers and I was ready to go. Great card if you need to add a SATA or eSATA drive to your system, it is also very fast, I use the drive for video and it works like a charm... good buy! |

Vantec UGT-ST300 eSATA Serial ATA Controller Card PCI 1INT 1EXT
Cons:None so far....
Pros:Easy installation. Has both internal SATA, and eSATA ports. Can attach a drive activity LED. Bootable drives work. Uses reliable Silicon Image chipset. Good price. Comment:
Got this item because it has an eSATA port on it, to use for backups with an external hard drive, AND because it uses a Silicon Image chipset. From what I've read, and found by experience, some chipsets don't always do all they claim, but apparently Silicon Image chipsets generally do, and in this case, it easily recognizes the attached drives, and my external drive is hot swappable, just the way I wanted. Drives attached to this card can also be bootable, which is definitely a plus. |

Vantec UGT-ST300 eSATA Serial ATA Controller Card PCI 1INT 1EXT
Cons:had to switch PCI slot, could be motherboard issue
Pros:works well, excellent price, Vantec support is not bad Comment:
i have a spare SATA II HD hanging around, decided to give this a shot, initially didn't work couldn't install driver under windows, switched to another PCI slot everything works fine nowgetting sustained 37-28MB/s write speed to internal Seagate 7200.10 SATA II 500GB when copying big files from internal PATA drive. |
This is a great little addon if your Mob doesn't already have Esata. The only thing I don't like and it's pretty petty but her goes. The external port on the card should be centered, it is offset to one side which can make it difficult to plug into. Thats all :p
