I bought this on sale for $79; it was a great deal. I am using it mainly for general purposes of backing up important data, and 320 GB (299 GB actual) is plenty!Would recommend it for general use (it doesn't have a security feature. Plug and play without much hassle) |
The moment I hooked up this external hard drive, it started to click all the time and the power light flashed on and off. By rebooting the computer, it goes away on the next start up. Since I use this hard drive to store backup images for my laptop, I can not trust this hard drive not to fail. My understanding of this clicking could mean a chip inside is about to fail. Also, on information on the warranty of this hard drive, it stated that there was a 7 year warranty on it. The warranty information shipped with the unit says it has a 3 year warranty.
