Verbatim 4.7GB 8X DVD-R 50 Packs Disc Model 96552
Cons:Price is a little high - try to get them when they go on sale as I did.
Pros:Water resistant.Glossy image.Hub printing.Good write quality. Comment:
Comparable to Taiyo Yuden Watershield in print quality, waterproof ability and writing quality. It's worth it when these go on sale to get them if you want a disc that will be water resistant. Before the Watershields and these discs came out, I used to read about people spraying a coating on their discs after they printed on them.I thought that it was insanity to go to that sort of trouble. With these discs, you don't have to go through that sort of mess and pain to have a water resistant (pretty much water proof) disc.I use a Canon ip4500 to print on the discs and they come out excellent. I'm sure the Epson printers would be excellent as well.Excellent!Don't forget to stock up when they go on sale. This review was modfied by poster @ 04-01-09 11:07 PM |

Verbatim 4.7GB 8X DVD-R 50 Packs Disc Model 96552
Cons:none
Pros:-print quality-water resistance Comment:
Wow! Very impressed with how awesome printed images look on these things. Much better than I could have ever expected with my Epson R280. My experience with labels has been limited to the old paper stick-ons; these are so far above and beyond that, I will have a hard time burning movies on anything else frome here on in. |
This is an impressive set of media. In the time I've been using it, I've yet to burn a coaster or have a disc go bad. The print quality is spectacular - it even dries faster than standard coatings and so is less likely to smudge when the label is printed to the edge of the surface.Verbatim might be holding back, as this isn't their archival-grade media. That's a downside in the same way the standard Audi R8 isn't as good as it can be since it doesn't have the V10 engine. It may not be the most spectacular DVD burn media possible, but it's as good as you're likely to find anywhere.
