I have almost gone through this spindle with not a single problem, I always burn at 8x or 12x, cant comment on 16x.I picked these up when they were on sale for $10, and will get them again if I see them on sale.

Then again, my +3 year old Ritek media also failed recently, perhaps it's the burner.

Comment: Bought one of these DVD+R 16X for 9.99 on a weekly special sale. Ever since I got a read error from one of the data discs I have burned from a different brand, I switched to verbatim. After the switch I have never experienced a disc read/write error. These discs are really worth the extra dollars over other brands. A good tip when you are burning a disc is just leave the computer idle while it is in the process of writing data. I tried surffing the web once while I was burning a disc, the result was a write error.
