WD Elements 4TB Desktop External Hard Drive USB 3.0 Black
Cons:No cooling fan and poor airflow so overheats a bit when large files are transferred. (up to about 115 degrees F) Will not cool even that well laying on it's side.
Pros:Easy to install. Stands vertically. Lot's of storage for the price. |

WD Elements 4TB Desktop External Hard Drive USB 3.0 Black
Cons:Larger than some external drives
Pros:Extremely large storage space Comment:
This drive was extremely easy to hook up right out of the box. It has a huge storage space that you will never be able to fill. It is USB 3.0 compatible so you get very fast transfer speeds. |

WD Elements 4TB Desktop External Hard Drive USB 3.0 Black
Cons:USB cable is too short for what it should be, warranty is also too short.
Pros:It's not tipy, write speed is half desent for usb drive 62-67MB/s, spins down to quiet drive even full spin is barely audible, has a power switch on back. Comment:
It's an external usb hdd slightly better than the Seagate back-up plus I own both and would buy the WD elements again over the Seagate.I would've given it 4 stars if the USB cable was a foot or two longer but it's not so 3 stars you get. |

WD Elements 4TB Desktop External Hard Drive USB 3.0 Black
Cons:price
Pros:4tb Comment:
good external, needed more space for when i travel so i can bring some movies, music, document etc without worying about if im gonna have enough gig good price when in special other wise its kinda pricy |
I have two of these drives now. Even with the slight overheat issue I still find them reliable and lot's of bang for the buck. I would buy another if I needed more economical storage space. USB cable is long enough for my purposes. I would recommend sticking some rubber feet onto the bottom of the unit so as to raise the height and allow better airflow.
