I like WD, but not the HDD enclosure. the usb to sata adapter inside the enclosure encrypts the data that is put on the hard drive right out of the box & nothing you can do to stop the encryption, so you can't recover the data that is on the drive itself with out the enclosure. it will just ask you if you want to Format the Hard Drive if you put it inside your PC. I cracked it open & there was a WD Green WD40EZRX 4TB inside. It costs more to buy a bare drive! |
Have 2 of these units as backup modules with no issues thus far. In general, I have more success with WD over Seagate when it comes to i/o errors.
