Got this drive as a replacement for an older Macbook Pro. Aside from a complicated install (thanks to Apple) this works just great. |

WESTERN DIGITAL 640 GIGABYTE SATA 3G MOBILE STORAGE 5400RPM 8MB CACHE BARE
Cons:
i just wish it were a 1TB, 7200rpm drive with 16MB cache and a low 4ms latency.
Pros: 9.5mm height to fit all common laptop configurations. full 5400rpm spindle speed.dual platter, 320GB per platter areal density.nice and quiet in my 15" uMBP. Comment:
you need the space and have the room, get the 750GB. if you want the faster performing drive and a 500GB drive was enough room, the 640GB drive will give you more performance for the buck. |

I got this drive to upgrade an old laptop drive and it is working great. As far as I know, this currently is the biggest 9.5mm height drive available. |

Cons:None yet.
Pros:Well packaged9.5mm thicknessWorks great as PS3 upgrade Comment:
Purchased this to upgrade my original 60GB PS3 hard drive and couldn't be happier. The swap went smooth and the WD drive formatted and hooked up without a hitch. Great PS3 upgrade when it's on sale. This review was modfied by poster @ 02-11-10 04:59 PM |
Purchased this for an upgrade for my PS3. It is largest non-4K sector hard drive. I think a 4K sector drive would still work with a PS3 but I wanted it to be on the safe-side. No issues and format went fine.
