Quiet, Quickly, and effortless install. 'None so far. I haven't had it extended sufficient. I will have to report back if any difficulties should arise. I purchaed this drive o replace a failed drive in my HP DV4t laptop. The original failed immediately after 18 months of use, 6 months out of warranty.

I put the WD Scorpio Blue HD into my MacBook and later my MacBook Pro and it works good. It's fairly quiet too. I've had this much more months now and it doesn't to be getting any problems at all. I would absolutely get this item once more. None

Truly are no pros to this difficult drive, I've purchased two of these hard drives (both not from Newegg though due to much better rates elsewhere) and each arrived DOA. Simple, they by no means worked, whether it was in my external enclosure or my PS3 all they could do is make a constant stream of quiet clicking noises and neither G-Parted, Windows or Western Digital's own software program can't locate either drive, let alone truly test either drive. If one had arrived DOA but the other worked I would have accepted that, failures do occur but when a Seagate Barracuda desktop drive functions in your external enclosure, isn't treated well in transit and just keeps going, some thing is incorrect right here.

I have been by means of several of these more than past couple years. Perfect reliability. Decent speed and cost per GB. Too slow versus closely priced 7200 rpm drives now. These make great storage drives (externals specially). Speed is just inferior compared to other drives for a few dollars far more.As usual, WD's RMA policy is so excellent it nearly doesn't matter.

This drive is a superior drive for a ps3 replacement. It came packaged very nicely too. As Usually I am really content with the item and its capabilities. An I am really content at the promptness of NewEgg's shipping. They were fast and pack extremely very well.

Almost everything is working like it must and it was shipped quicker than something ive ever ordered online. Is there anything else truly to say?! None that I can believe of. The price for the drive may well appear a bit much considering that you can add a couple of bucks much more and have a dramatic increase in space but if your buying this for somebody you know that wont finish up the drive then its all superior.

Good cost for the size. Quiet, rapidly, works properly as a PS3 upgrade drive. None so far... Some people today's drives died, but I really like WD. I got 1 that failed as soon as, but contacted them and got a new on within a week. No worries.

Rapidly and quiet. Died inside a year. I just pulled this from a Dell Studio 1735 that had failed inside a year. My friend brought it to me to try to fix the corrupt Windows install. 2 different Linux distros each had read/write errors, so I pulled it and mounted it USB on my primary desktop (wondering if it was the laptop itself). Identical thing. Fortunately only lost 𞲲 files out of 𞴥K so most of his pix, etc had been nonetheless readable.

Swapped into an Acer Aspire One netbook with out difficulty. Installed Ubuntu 10.04, up and operating in two hours -- mainly installing the OS.Doubled the capacity.Speed is about the similar.In fact feels cooler on my lap than the original 160 GB drive. Quiet, but makes a slight vibration even though it's running. The vibration makes me just slightly concerned for its longevity.

Worked fine in my Macbook. Died immediately after one year and 5 months of loyal service - average use of perhaps five hours a day.

Started off good adequate.... Failed horribly after just 8 hours. Started off good, then it kept creating a single "Ca-Click" just about every so often. Eventually the entire machine locked up for a few seconds. Then it became much more and much more pronounced and occurred often. at initial I thought the drive was not finding sufficient energy. Within 8 hours of use the dive was entirely unusable, and Wise reported a Pre-Fail status on a few parameters including spin up time and a FAIL on read/write occasions. 2nd difficult drive from new egg in a row that has failed horribly. Not specifically impressed... I went to get a Seagate form the store, Hopefully the RMA'd drive will be OK. WD support is pretty worthless I utilized to have excellent luck with WD drives, but lately they have failed to woo me.

Evening out a reviewer who doesn't know what he's talking about. Good drive. Got it for a client, put it in, works wonderful. None oscaryu1, please do not list your tech level as high if you don't know what you're talking about. All 320GB drives are essentially 𞵚GB. The 320GB is the raw data size on the platter, and loses ㅎGB in formatting the drive into usable space. This takes place on all drives, from 40GB to 3000GB massive. My 2TB formatted into ӭ.8, my 1.5TB into ӭ.2TB, my 500GB into 𞷼GB. It's absolutely nothing new, and has been like this for years.

Simple setup and install, it works. none so far Utilised it to replace a dead drive in a two year old "high finish" name brand laptop. It's funny how the precise identical drive only had a 1 year warranty from @&**, and the replacement drive purchased from newegg has 3 years.

Cost. Size. Capacity.Installed it in a SilverStone three.5in to 2 two.5in bay converter, and it worked following loading it in windows. it hangs a small. the initial three weeks I had it, it utilised to hang for about 20-30 seconds when watching a movie from it. I don't know why but following that it stopped performing it. Now I can watch a full movie without having it hanging. It is worth it so i didn't take an egg off.

Can\'t say yet as the drive failed. I bought this to upgrade a laptop (primary) tough drive with Windows 7. Upgrades was fine. Was able to use it for a couple of hours.Next morning (less than 24 hrs), the drive failed to read. Windows will not boot (drive ready i /o error). Ran WD Data Life Guard Diagnostics - says the capacity is now 78.5G and zero errors. What happened to the rest of the 320G (and all my data + W7)?Subsequent, mounted the drive to a windows (and linux) - each OS say the drive is not formatted (and capacity is 78.xGB).Will have to RMA.

Price, performance, storage, noise levels, and power usage are all excellent. I utilized this drive as a replacement for a failed 160GB drive in my brother's notebook. Scored greater in the windows vista index compared to the prior drive, also utilizes less energy, and makes less noise. A terrific buy! None reported so far, works flawlessly! If you're replacing the stock drive in a budget notebook for repairs, or far more storage, this is the drive for you.

It works like a charm, Im utilizing it in a ps3 slim and i can notice a difference in the speed. I had to format the drive and install the system software but following that all is nicely. None I just hope it last as long as some of the other wd drives i have.

Inexpensive - Qiet - Cool Don't know it's longevity. Only 1 day old. Immediately after installing this drive in an external enclosure I filled it up with files and then began an error checking utility to try and generate as a lot heat a doable. Surprisingly it ran particularly cool. The aluminum enclosure is just slightly warm. I would guess much less than 110 degrees Fahrenheit. Following putting the case up to my ear I can only hear normal HD sounds and no sound when I move the case a couple of inches away. I don't really feel considerably of a vibration in my hand and would say it wasn't noticeable at all. If it had been in a laptop there would be no will need for a cooler fan even if you were playing movies. The 1 thing I can't comment on is longevity. I have worked the snot out of it in an attempt to make it break early on so I don't have to deal with returning it in the future. My initial impression is it’s a keeper.
