WESTERN DIGITAL WESTERN DIGITAL WD3200BEVT 320GB SCORPIO SATA
Cons:
not any cheaper than 500G version
Pros: Can be flashed to work as Xbox360 250G HDD Comment:
Bought it to replace the 120G Xbox360 HDD. Only took about 5 minutes to complete the process, and it works perfectly as a 250G Xbox360 HDD. The only complain is the price is to close to the 500G version. Well, it is pretty old anyway. |

Pros: Super quiet, Super fast. Runs pretty cool Comment:
This is the perfect hard drive for an external enclosure. Although for the price difference, I would go for a 500 Gb unless you get this one on special. |

Cons:Rien à signaler.
Pros:Bon manufacturier.Bon prix et bonne capacité.Vitesse acceptable. Comment:

WESTERN DIGITAL WESTERN DIGITAL WD3200BEVT 320GB SCORPIO SATA
Cons:Gets very warm under load
Pros:Cheap with lots of capacity Comment:
I did my research and decided to buy this for my external enclosure. I'm glad I didn't have plans to put it in my netbook. While on idle, it not any warmer than any other drive. However, when it is crunching away it get surprisingly warm. Not like it seems kinda warm, I mean its definitely VERY warm.I can't imagine all the heat is power efficient so I would stick this one in an external enclosure or otherwise into a desktop. |

WESTERN DIGITAL WESTERN DIGITAL WD3200BEVT 320GB SCORPIO SATA
Cons:Compared to SSD, slow
Pros:Very quietQuick enough - probably the fastest of the 5400 RPM drivesGood pricing Comment:
I bought this as a cheap OS drive to go into my HTPC. For a brief moment, I considered SSD for my HTPC - but I figured since I spent only about $400 on everything else, why would I go balls-out on a SSD drive?I opted for this instead, and considering its usage - it is really the perfect fit. It is extremely quiet, albeit not silent like an SSD would be - but nonetheless completely inaudible from where I sit. And, since the computer is used almost entirely for HD playback, and the occasional web surfing session - it certainly has all the speed I need.I am very happy that I showed some restraint and bought this drive over an SSD. The new WD 7200 RPM drives are also amazingly quiet, and do have a performance premium over this drive - so if you do anything the requires performance, I might recommend one of those over this. But having said that, this drive is almost certainly the fastest of the 5400 RPM drives and does not lag very far behind the 7200 RPM drives at all. |

Pros:-Price-Storage space Comment:
I picked up this drive to replace the one in my Dell 640m laptop. The 120GB drive that was in there was great when I first got it, but a couple of years later and I was running out of space. I used cloning software to copy it from my old drive and popped it in. First boot everything went well and just love the extra space. It's as quiet as the stock drive was if not quieter. Of course, probably in another year I will be out of space again.... |

WESTERN DIGITAL WESTERN DIGITAL WD3200BEVT 320GB SCORPIO SATA
Cons:Can get a bit warm
Pros:Fast transfers rates and it is not load at all. Comment:
Overall I really like the HDD. Although I am using it in a hdd enclosure and sometimes it randomly ejects the hdd which is quite annoying. I think it may be a problem with the enclosure and not the hdd (I just purchased a new enclosure for the hdd so hopefully the hdd wont eject). This review was modfied by poster @ 07-28-09 07:40 PM |

Finally replaced my 20gb HDD on my PS3. I must say that I'm quite impressed. The 320gb ended up becoming a 298gb after formating which is still a lot considering what I previously had. No problems encountered as if it came straight out of the assembly line. Trully an AWESOME product and would highly recomend it as a HDD upgrade for your PS3. |

Comment:
I have 5 of these drives. All are made around the same time (NOV 2008) - 2 of them make an annoying 'click' every so often. This was supposed to be fixed in a firmware release back in the fall. I cannot update the firmware as mine is the same. So I think it's hit/miss on these. The quiet ones are very quiet and perform excellent. I returned the noisy ones. |

WESTERN DIGITAL WESTERN DIGITAL WD3200BEVT 320GB SCORPIO SATA
Cons:Needs greater than 500mA to function
Pros:Price, brand, warranty Comment:
Just got this for use in a 2.5in enclosure but to my horror it draws more than 500mA when running. For those that don't know, it means you can't run this on the USB bus alone and you need external power. That sort of kills its utility in my eyes. If it was directly inside a laptop, then it would be most stellar. |

Cons:a little pricey
Pros:good transfer rate for 2.5" hard drive Comment:
I upgraded my hitachi OEM harddrive that came with my x61 tablet. Vista load much much faster now. I can't say I am happy with the device. As you pay more for less comparing to 3.5" inch. It's irrelevant, but still............ |

WESTERN DIGITAL WESTERN DIGITAL WD3200BEVT 320GB SCORPIO SATA
Cons:Still above $100
Pros:Extremely fast, quiet and cool running. In a T60p, there is no detectable vibration. The drive is considerably quieter than the stock 100GB Seagate Momentus 7200 rpm. Comment:
Despite the lower rpm this drive performs as well if not better in day to day useage in my system. Boot times are faster and my Vista HDD experience score jumped from 4.7 to 5.1. |

Cons:Heat
Pros:SpeedSizePrice Comment:
Overall it's a great drive for a great price. I was hesitant to get it at first because I had heard that there were problems with heat and noise/vibration. Now that I have it though it's nothing like I thought it would be. Sure it's a little hotter in my laptop (44C-49C, still within the 60C of manufacturer's specs) compared to my previous drive (39C) and takes a little more power under both idle and load but the speed increase was amazing (basically 2x or more faster in min/avg/max in HDTune). I also haven't had a problem with noise or vibration. Before upgrade ("idle" listening to music): http://img224.imageshack.us/my.php?image=hdtuneie9.jpgPost upgrade ("idle" listening to music): http://img526.imageshack.us/my.php?image=wdhdtunehb6.jpg |

WESTERN DIGITAL WESTERN DIGITAL WD3200BEVT 320GB SCORPIO SATA
Cons:Rattles or vibrates too much in my laptop for my liking
Pros:Nothing really except for marginal performance gains versus the competition based on reviews. Comment:
Originally, I purchased this as a Laptop replacment but I found it vibrates too much for my taste. I'm not sure if it will vary from copy to copy but I ended up getting Hitachi instead. It will work great and you will not notice the difference if it was in an external drive (or if you want to put into a PC case) but if you use it for a latop (HP); then you will feel it vibrate on the left of your palm. Great external drive but I prefer the Hitachi. Haven't tried the 320gb Toshiba, Fijitsu or Samsung so can't comment. |
Bought this to put in a Box Office media player (SKU 44928). Works perfectly and does it's job. It also runs cool and quiet.
