Wacom Bamboo Fun Small Graphics Tablet Black USB 2540DPI for Digital Inking Apps W/ Pen & Mouse
Cons:Mouse is somewhat difficult to use

Pros:Good hardware for drawing
Comment:
Bought this product as a Christmas present for sister and she loved it ( she has been expecting the tablet for a while and wanted one to draw). Although I am not too familiar with this kind of hardware, I think this product is quite decent seeing how my sister loves it. The software included however seems pretty out of date seeing how currently I am running Photoshop CS4. I feel it was a tad expensive however but if you happen to catch it at a low price then take it if your looking to buy a tablet. This review was modfied by poster @ 12-03-09 01:10 PM

Wacom Bamboo Fun Small Graphics Tablet Black USB 2540DPI for Digital Inking Apps W/ Pen & Mouse
Cons:active area is small, widescreen dimensions might be less intuitive if you're using a 4:3 monitor

Pros:precision input for sketching & photo editing, no cords or batteries needed,
Comment:
I had never tried a pen tablet before and my purposes are purely recreational. I got this for around $80 on sale from a major outlet during Boxing Week. Nice to see Wacom finally release something in my price range. The active area is small, but that should only be a problem if you have giant hands or tremble a lot. Unlike a mouse, every part of the area on a tablet is directly related to an area on the screen, so that takes some getting used to. No peddling to reach the corners. The zoom wheel's handy, haven't used the buttons much. The dimensions of this tablet are closer to widescreen than 4:3. Since I use a widescreen I'm not sure if this would be a problem for people using 4:3 monitors.I use it for sketching with Alias Sketchbook Pro and editing photos with Photoshop. With Sketchbook Pro it feels almost as natural as sketching with a pencil (or pen). Being able to flip the pen around to use the eraser end on the back adds to the natural feel. I find the pen sensitivity in this model more than adequate. With the extra precision in Photoshop cutting around shapes and following irregular borders with the selection lasso is greatly improved.I haven't used the mouse either, not sure why anyone would want to. There are also three replacement plastic pen nibs included, good if you're using it enough to wear them down.I don't bother with the included software. If you've used proper Photoshop, then Photoshop Elements feels like being shackled and babied. Corel Painter might be useful for someone wishing to simulate a Monet style of painting. All in all a great product if you want to develop or take advantage of artistic skills without using paper or getting your hands dirty.
