Bought this for $79.99 during boxing week. It's obviously not as fast as an SSD but it's still a decently fast boot drive with lots of storage. I decided to pick this drive over the similarly priced Samsung F3 1TB drive simply because of Western Digital's 5 year warranty. |

Picked up this puppy on sale for a fairly good price at the time and it has been running flawlessly since I've installed. Lots of space which is a fantastic upgrade from 320GB I originally only had. Here's hoping this drive lasts me until 1TB becomes too little. |

An excellent hard drive, I have always bought Western Digital drives, and this is the best so far. While the drive doesn't come close to the full capabilities of the SATA 3: 6GB/s interface, this 7200 rpm drive is still faster than my old 73GB WD Raptor 10K rpm drive.I just bought a second of these drives, they make using the WD Greens uncomfortable by comparison. |

This is a very good product, WD knows how to make large drive works for everyday computing. My old drive was 250G, and this 1 TB drive is an over kill. Now I don't have to worry about the space for all my games. This drive runs really quiet, even when loading the noise is minimum. Its speed incease over the older drive is noticeable, and after going through a few test runs it functions without problem. If you want a large drive that works just the way you want, WD got your needs covered. |

Picked this up boxing day week for extra storage. What can I say? It's fast for a mechanical drive (spoiled by my SSD), and give me the space I needed. It is a little bit noisier than my other 7200 rpm mechanical drives (older Seagates), but is also faster than them too. I would definitely buy again when I need more space. |

This is WAY WAY louder than my WD 500GB Black and my 640GB Black, but only during seeks. The drive is very quiet on idle. Performance is pretty high up there for an HDD, not to mention I got it for $79.99. I'm glad I didn't have any issues on a SATA2 board though, as a lot of people have had them, I didn't have to use jumpers at all. (which the drive doesn't come with BTW) |

Love this hard drive. It's a lot faster than my old maxtor SATA drive. It's also pretty quiet, by hard drive standard. Not sure what dual proc does.
