Western Digital Elements 3TB 3.5" External Hard Drive
Cons:- As of review, overpriced, wait until shortages of the part are filled and prices drop.

Pros:- Huge amount of space- Good Speeds
Comment:
Got this for $119.99 price matched back in August. Has done a very good job for storage and speeds are what are to be expected from an external drive.

Western Digital Elements 3TB 3.5" External Hard Drive
Cons:takes 5 seconds to spin up the first time you access the drive or after a bit of time not using it, this is because the drive has hybernate technology on it

Pros:huge amount of space, at around 24 MB/s transfer rate
Comment:
Great drive, huge space for the money, I paid 138.99 for it 3 weeks ago and today december 3rd,2011 its 249.99 wtf NCIX explain this difference in price. stop trying to rip people off during christmas.

Western Digital Elements 3TB 3.5" External Hard Drive
Cons:Would have liked eSATA as a connection option, not the fastest drive

Pros:Inexpensive, lots of capacity, elegant and fairly compact design
Comment:
I actually got this only because it actually was a bit cheaper than the green power 3TB drive by itself - so I ended up with a drive and an enclosure that I can use later. It did work, however taking the enclosure apart proved somewhat challenging. I had to use a utility knife to pry the case open, and then stick a credit card inside to undo the latches. This was tricky, but once done I could easily pull out the drive.I think that the enclosure looks nice and it works fine, but I would have liked the option of having some faster interface options (eSATA or USB3, for instance). The drive itself isn't particularly speedy, but it's enough to get the job done. When I did plug it in to a SATA port, Windows 7 didn't recognize it as properly formatted - because it is over 2TB, I had to reinitialize it as a GPT drive and reformat it (in diskmgmt.msc). No big worries there... I guess they must have implemented some kind of workaround for this in the way that the drive was formatted - perhaps the controller handles this transparently. So this works as a plain 3.5" internal drive, but so far I haven't yet tested the enclosure to see how it performs with other drives than the one that was included. I guess I haven't lost anything if it doesn't work at all, however.

Western Digital Elements 3TB 3.5" External Hard Drive
Cons:Requires external power, no USB3.0 support

Pros:Huge capacity
Comment:
This is a great option for anyone who needs more room for videos, music, pictures and other software that doesn't require high throughput.I grabbed this for my mom. She is using it with her laptop as she was stuck with a 200GB limit on the internal drive. It works great but it would have been nice if the power and data cables were a little longer.Overall, solid product that does what it says on the box.

Western Digital Elements 3TB 3.5" External Hard Drive
Cons:Does not work with my bell 9242 PVR, does not work with my buffalo WZR-HP-300NH as a NAS storage device yet.

Pros:Large Capacity, Works in XP and linux on a PC
Comment:
The works good on a PC but devices that use embedded Linux are having difficulty using such a a large drive. I can use fat32 on the router as a NAS drive but with EXT3 it complains the disk is not formated.Overall I'm happy with the drive and performance and I anticipated issues using the drive with certain devices.
