Fantastic cost, decent storage capacity, incredibly rapid transfer rate. Not a big con, but, the fact it comes with back-up software installed. I just formatted it to permit me to use all the space. This EHD is a good purchase and the truth that it is WD tends to make it even a lot more desireable. Love this drive......

Modest, well constructed, typical speed (USB speed about 23MB/sec). USB plug is unstandard and almost certainly produced by WD. So don't loose the cable. Why do this????? I can't fully grasp

You can't beat the Western Digital brand. This is a great drive for the money. 750 GB is lots major sufficient to back up all our photos and residence films. I wish the USB cord that comes with the drive was longer.

Solid, smaller drive with superior capacity and no annoying preinstalled application. Reliability problems. I've been organizing files on this drive and have run into really serious data errors 3 times so far. I bought a second drive due to the fact I didn't want to use this one particular devoid of a backup.

Excellent general drive, the speed of transfer is twice as rapid as my Passport Elite 500 GB drive. No troubles with USB cables or faults, every thing was plug and play and is operating great! The only Con I have identified is the out of the box storage space is 698 GB. Fantastic get, I would most undoubtedly take into account getting another, especially (as pointed out by the last assessment) mainly because they are significantly much easier to stack and they nevertheless look wonderful!

In response to Alex about WD delivering this drive with a proprietary mini USB cable, properly, it is not proprietary. It is a common mini USB cable. I just got off the phone with WD tech support to confirm this.If you appear at a image of the cable end of the drive, you will see that it is indeed a mini USB. Guess I'll now purchase a single. NONE NONE

A lot of space in a small package. WD does not specify rotation speed, but drive behaves reasonably quick. Works as expected out of the box. Brief warranty period Ƒ yr in the USA, two in Europe) suggests that drive may well be consumer-grade material or experimental. If you don't thoughts that, I have otherwise found the drive to be a fine product in the week I've had it for so far. I required a portable external drive for trips. No difficulties with its USB port. Personally, I like its stackable style far better than the "maximum style" shiny Passport Essential SE. Drive consists of some autorun stuff, which I promptly wiped out. I'm employing it with a Mac laptop, but haven't reformatted the drive yet. Instead, I'm utilizing its NTFS formatted space fine with the NTFS-3G driver. So far so excellent.

The product design is amazingly little, Adore the size and capability to stuff a load of them in a tiny space. The product syncs very quickly to your pc. Little to no hassle with mine. Not the fastest transfer rate to the hard drive, No power button or way to remove safely from the pc,

Western Digital Elements SE 750GB 2.5" Portable Hard Drive
Cons: Doesn't come with a caseThe drives draws a lot of power. I had a laptop that complained about a power surge.

Pros: High CapacityQuite fastVery portable
Comment:
I really love the capacity vs. the size. I really didn't like the fact that i needed to buy a case for the hard drive in order to have a case. This drive is great, and it is WD... not the horrible seagate stuff that likes to fail on me.

Western Digital Elements SE 750GB 2.5" Portable Hard Drive
Cons: Seems a little bulkier than the My passport Essentials

Pros: Has a Standard USB port
Comment:
Purchased this Portable drive as well as a My passports Essentials and I love this drive much more. The connection isnt near as sensitive as the Essentials. Much more sturdy of a drive. A little less "pretty" to look at however.
