Western Digital My Book Essential 1TB Black External Hard Drive
Comment:
This external HD was effortless to install. My comp recognized it quickly. I was in a position to move my D drive files to it very easily. Plus the 1 issue I was worried about was accessing the files on it. I believed it would be slower going by way of a USB port than it becoming an internal drive. Nope, it's quicker. Nothing at all. I wish there was a way to basically install a new hd straight into the case from the front like plugging it in and out. It would save space on my desk and free of charge up a USB port. |

Cons:No ethernet connection
Pros:Inexpensive storage, when on sale Comment:
WIll be using this drive in a network environment, using the usb connector of a Linksys router. Works as designed. Not too expensive, if bought on sale. |

Western Digital My Book Essential 1TB Black External Hard Drive
Cons:- None so far.
Pros:- Got it for a great deal ($79.99).- Incredibly fast.- Super quiet. Comment:
What can I say? It's a simple external hard drive that works perfectly fine. I've been using this drive to transfer some high-capacity movie files and it does so in mere moments - less than a minute for several gigabytes (one file). It's also a very quiet drive. It's hard to tell that it's turned on. |

Rapid transfers more than USB three.. USB three. takes patience to set up if your program doesn't have it natively. I applied a PCI-E card, and it just took some time to make confident that all of the drivers had been installed effectively. |

Western Digital My Book Essential 1TB Black External Hard Drive
Cons:Needs an outlet
Pros:Great priceGood portability Comment:
So far so good. Needed some extra storage, and decided it would be a good idea to have it portable. Chose this over the 2TB, simply due to the price. If I had a few extra bucks, I would have gone for the extra space, but overall, pretty happy.Other users showed concerns about the on/off feature, but you can install a driver to have it always on from what I can tell. |

Ware do I begin I adore this challenging drive. It has rapidly transfer rate. The tough drive power light Doesn't blare in your face. This hard drive also comes with a power switch. Some other drives don't have that. The drive has 1 terra byte of space. So a lot of space Also it is economical It doesn't come with a pcie to usb 3. adapter. So make certain you much better have usb three. on your motherboard or prepair to get a adapter or slower transfer rate. I own a mobo with usb 3. so not a challenge for me. But I strongly sudjest you appear to make confident you have no matter how new you laptop or computer is. So make sure you have the usb three. use on your mobo or prepair to but a adapter. Some one mentioned that Intel I 7 cpu mother boards Don't have usb 3.. They don't have a chipset on the Motherboard. Now not confident if it true but So even if is a new computer system I would shudjest you make positive to check it any way. It less complicated then obtaining stuck with slower drive. Also the difficult drive is a drag and drop. |

Nice drive good piece of mind having everything backed up! It's quick! just make certain you update the firmware and software prior to backing up for maximum speed. There genuinely is not considerably support for the item, couldn't come across any topics guessing since there's so several diverse versions of these drives. The software program/firmware update was a small buggy and wont completely back up your computer unless you use windows backup utility (where WD computer software labels it as further files) which I'm not positive if usb3. is being totally utilized via windows. But it backed up 200gb in about an hour or so. Don't forget to register your product!.. wait, tried to do that, says I'm not in Canada or USA.. um.. then WHERE AM I WD? |

Would highly recommend it for single user, but not over a small home network. |
- Fantastic information transfer speed- two.Ǚ. compatibility- Choice to install the backup software program- Good design - Bulky The price could have been lowered down a but far more. I bought it for 99 USD and I don't think it ought to be a lot more than 80 bucks.
