First off, I purchased thinking that I was getting 640 GB worth of storage. Unfortunately, the manufacturer has installed some kind of un-removable firmware that takes up 45GB right off the top! So actually storage capacity of this drive is only 595 GB. This should not be advertised as a 640 GB device. Additionally, the file download and upload speeds were so dreadfully slow, that I would've returned the product if I could. Instead I've swapped it with someone who needs a drive only for quarterly backups. The only positive with this product is the software that comes with the product is very user-friendly. I've purchased and used this manufacturer's drives before and have been generally happy with the performance. Unfortunately, something fell flat with the design and manufacturing of this poor product-DO NOT PURCHASE!
