Western Digital Scorpio Black 160GB 2.5" SATA 3.0Gb/s Internal Notebook Hard Drive -Bare Drive
Cons:Heats up fastVibration is a small issue(could be fixed with rubber mounts

Pros:FastGreat price with PMSilent(so far)
Comment:
I have this little guy inside a mini-box m350, with the Zotac Ion-ITX A Mobo, the case gives ample air but the drive heats up regardless(i need a fan right on it) aside from the heat issue, its near silent, the only noise comming from this is a inaudible vibration from 1 meter away, you actually have to touch and or put your ear up to it to hear it. Its fast, no issues writting or reading at all. I recomend this Drive !!!

Good HDD, Poor Service
Comment:
I ordered this drive to replace a dieing Toshiba drive. The company also sent me the 8Mb buffer version for some odd reason.I didn't feel like shipping it back and waiting another week for a new one, so unhappily, I used the 8Mb version. The drive is working great after a month

Update on WD1600-BEKT vs WD1600-BJKT post
Comment:
There is a difference between the two model numbers. One has the free fall sensor BJKT, the BEKT does not. More info on the WD website. Star Ratings do not apply to this post but had to fill out.

Slightly Disappointed...
Comment:
I ordered this 160GB 7200RPM 16MB HDD, but I received a 8MB Cache HDD in the mail. All other specs were the same, but the Cache size was lower than advertised. I called up Cust Serv and ended up getting a $10 discount on my next purchase. It seems that the 16MB Cache version was out of stock so they sent me this one instead. Although I'm glad that in the end they attempted to make things right, I am unhappy that they switched my purchased item with a lesser product, without notifying me. I will continue shopping here of course, but I do not think this is a good business practice...I'm sure many customers would have installed their HDD without even realizing they didn't get exactly what they paid for.

WD1600-BEKT vs WD1600-BJKT
Comment:
Just thought I would post this in case anyone else ran into this confusion. They had the page header right for the W10-7140 DH but the wrong specs in the page. They pulled the page and corrected for the 7140 DH, but it confused me to no end. Long story short, only difference between 7140 DH and 7140 is the manufacturer date. Stars do not reflect reflect rating, just experience with site. Item: W10-7140 DH Model: WD1600BEKT Buffer Cache: 16MB Item: W10-7140 Model: WD1600BJKT Buffer Cache: 16MB

Western Digital Scorpio Black 160GB 2.5" SATA 3.0Gb/s Internal Notebook Hard Drive -Bare Drive
Cons:Runs a little hotter than a Momentus 7200.4

Pros:Good value, good performance.
Comment:
This VS. Seagate Momentus 7200.4 160GB:7200.4 has faster sustained transfer rate (78~79 MB/s VS. 73~74 MB/s), lower temperature (~28 C VS. 35 C)WD has shorter access time (~14.5 ms VS. ~16.5 ms)Really couldn't say much more because this is just an ordinary laptop HDD.

Western Digital Scorpio Black 160GB 2.5" SATA 3.0Gb/s Internal Notebook Hard Drive -Bare Drive
Cons:None

Pros:QuietDecent size / pricepointLower temperature
Comment:
Purchased this for a HTPC, rather than the more expensive SSD drives (which 120GB are ~$400 at time of this review)Benefits are having a decent size OS drive, which is lower in heat and quieter than regular hard drives. Add in a 2.5" to 3.5" adapter, and airflow helps (putting drive on upper bracket of Silverstone SDP08 2.5IN to 3.5IN Converter Drive Bay Adapter)Speed is comparable to a "Green" WD Drive, however the laptop hdd uses less power (in theory, I don't exacly measure it real time)Remember to price compare. :)
