I replaced an old HDD that would no longer boot in my laptop with this one. Despite the difficulties I had with the BIOS (not connected to the HDD) this plugged suitable in and allowed me to install Win7 on a 9 year old laptop. Runs greater than when I had Win2k on it... And don't forget the excellent speedy delivery thanks to Newegg fine staff. Not a con, but I don't comprehend all the bad reports as in DOA's that others have posted, I've ordered a total of 5 HDD's, all WD's and have but to recieve anything but normally fine WD HDD's that just preserve on operating, two are more than 8 years old and nevertheless working. Utilized this product in a 2005 HP Pavilion ze4500 (ze4560us) upgrade, to replace the original HDD that fully smoked.
